“What’s my incentive?”
When his head bobbed up, a smile tugged hislips. “All this, sweetness.” A wave of his hands indicated hishuge, muscular, sexy body.
“What if I need more, cuddles?”
“More than this? Impossible.”
Sabine got serious. “Not everything’s aboutsex, Nico.”
The usual stray lock of hair fell over hiseye. Persistent. “This coming from a nymph? I’m shocked. What moredo you need?”
She combed it back with her fingers.“Words.”
“Like nouns, verbs, adjectives? You needwords?”
“As a matter of fact, I do.” Sabine lockedher fists in her lap so he wouldn’t see her tremble.
Nico swung his feet off the table, twistedtoward her, and took her hands in his. “Okay. Here they are. I hopeI don’t fuck up what I want to say. You’re smart, you’re a greatfighter, and you’re beautiful. I think about you from the minute Iwake in the morning until I go to bed at night. There. I’ve usedthe words.”
“Not the right ones.”
“Damn, sweetness, you’re tough.”
Sabine arched a brow, Nico still holdingonto her.
“I love you, Sabine. I have for some time, but I have a fucking crazy way of showing it. I will always loveyou. You’re it for me.”
“It’s always bothered you that I’m strongerthan you.”
His lips curled high on one side. “Here’sthe thing, sweetness, you may not be tougher than I am since I gotmy warlock on. But if you are, great. I want you to be powerfulenough to protect yourself. Hell, you’ll have my back while I’llhave yours.”
She released a loud sigh. “That wasn’t sohard, was it? I love you, too.” She leaned in and kissed him, hot, deep, lots of tongue, pouring her feelings into it.
Of course, Nico being Nico, he highjackedthe kiss, palming her breast and squeezing. When they broke apart,he grinned from ear to ear. “Great. Now what about moving in withme? I’m neat. I don’t snore. I am a horny bastard when you’rearound. So you can expect to get jumped regularly. Often.”
“All pluses. I will move in. Maybe onedrawback.”
“What?”
“My father will want to meet you.”
Nico held a palm high as he stiff-spined hisposture. “Whoa. I’m not good with parents.”
“How many have you met?” Sabine caught herbreath, a stab of jealousy to her heart.
“None.”
“To be clear, there’ll be no other femaleslike the one you propositioned at the Shed.”
“I told you, sweetness. I was drunk. I waspissed. I was stupid. I took her as far as the door outside a roomand stopped. She wasn’t you. I apologized. Walked her back. Therewon’t be a repeat. Ever.”
Sabine nodded, her lips clenched tight.“Back to my father. I’m afraid he’ll insist on meeting you. And I’mnot keeping our relationship a secret. Either we are open or I’moutta here.”
Nico’s arm came around Sabine as he huggedher to his chest. “I always knew when I fell in love I’d be aforever kind of guy. I’m in this for the long haul. I want everyoneto know I was lucky enough to snag you. My stud creds willskyrocket. Other males will spit green when they see you on myarm.”
“I believe in forever with you, Nico.” Shesnuggled into his bulky, solid pecs.
“I’ll meet the dad. How bad can it be?”
