Denim crossed her arms over her chest, humming while she hung ten.
He came out gripping two gigantic goldendrinks, shoving one into Denim’s hand. “We gotta blend.” He rotatedhis body, noticing a group off to the side. “Excuse me again.”
Ram tapped a guy’s shoulder, said something, and slipped some bills into his hand, takingbeaucoupbeadsfrom around his neck. Afterward, he hit up the guy’s friend for thesame. Returning to Denim, he slid a handful over her head.“Perfect.”
“Sure. If only the weapons weren’t such agive-away.”
“Hey. Everybody’s too smashed to see pastthe beads. Drink up. I get better looking with each sip.”
If he got any better looking, Denim would beall over him like a succubus in heat.
“So, you’re having fantasies, huh? You wantto talk about them?”
She had no chance to shake her head becauseRam pointed ahead with the drink in his fist. “Look. A crowd ofAeternals. They’re young enough to know our vamps.”
“Can all Aeternals read auras to identifybreeds?”
“Yep.”
“Will I be able to?”
He shrugged.
They pushed their way nearer the curb wherethe youths grouped to watch the parade. Like the humans aroundthem, they were drinking, yelling, yucking it up. No one wouldguess they had stepped over from another realm.
Ram looped his arm over the shoulder of ashapely, tall female. She eyed the satyr, boots to silky hair, hergaze making a final landing on his Phoenix brand. A stab ofjealousy hit Denim.
“Damn. Firebrands.” Her words were onething, but the young female had flirt written all over her face, her tongue darting over her hot red lips, her eyelashes fanningRam.
Denim reined in the urge to lay her sexy assout cold. “We’re not here to jam you up,cher. We needinfo.”
“Anybody know Varik and Norah? Vamps. Whatdo you say, little succubus? Do you know them?” Ram continued toprop his arm on her, his fingers too close to her boobs.
She shook her head, rubbing her hip againstRam’s thigh.
Damn. He could move over.
A towering male beside her spoke up. “What’sit to you?”
Ram separated from the succubus. Before helaunched himself at the lippy kid, Denim blocked his path. When indoubt, go with the truth. “They could be in trouble. You’ve heardthe warnings about the portals being compromised. The vamps haven’tmade it home.”
Ram must have agreed with the truth route.“Yeah. It’s possible humans are hunting Aeternals. Despite thealerts, you are here, mostly ’cause you’re young and stupid.”
“I saw Varik and Norah yesterday.” Theheavily pierced vampire speaker was familiar.
Another of his breed with blond spiky hairjabbed his friend. “We know you. You’re the hot chick who was withthe Amazon a while back. Are you stalking us? You re-thinking doin’us?”
Ram stepped forward, towering over theyouth, outweighing him by a good fifty to sixty pounds of hardmuscle. He paused, a grin spread from cheek to cheek. “Doll, wereyou thinking about doing these tiny-dicked males? I thought betterof you.”
“Don’t get your leather pants in a bunch, cher. They’re not my type.”
“True. You like big-dicked satyrs.”
Boy. Do I ever.
“Back to Varik and Norah.” Denim rested ahand on her new Glock.
The spiky-haired blond spouted off again.“When I saw them last night, they were headed home.”
