She was going to run her mouth to them about us instead because Hunter Rivera could smooth-talk his way into a nun’s panties if he wanted to. He could be ruthless like me, but he was a charming piece of shit too.

Slash was ruining my plans to murder her. The Devils’ presence in Ashburn Valley was making me twitchy, and spilling blood was the only way to avoid me taking it out on the wrong people.

Rory was lucky I hadn’t bent her over and made her bleed right here in front of Slash a few moments ago.

Lonnie’s face lit up, and I knew I wasn’t going to get to murder her annoying ass.

“You’d trust me with that?”

“Of course. I think he’s here to sabotage our drug trade tomorrow night, so try and keep him away from the park in the Heights, got it?”

This was the stupidest bitch I’d ever come across. We didn’t have a drug deal tomorrow, he was baiting her because he knew she would swoon all over Hunter and tell him everything.

Hunter wasn’t stupid, he’d know she was a spy and would get the information out of her, then simply kill her, saving us the cleanup.

Slash gave me a look to stay quiet, and Lonnie was too wrapped up in her own bullshit to realize he was playing her.

“You won’t regret this!” she beamed, scampering from the room before we could change our minds, and I turned to Slash, my eyes narrowed.

“Seriously? You couldn’t let me just slit her throat and call it a day?”

“It’s a smart plan. Admit it.”

“I won’t admit shit. You’re doing it again, you know? Making crew plans without consulting the rest of us. You’re pissing people off.”

“Me? You’re the one with academy pussy wrapped around your finger. We’ll have a meeting about it right now. Kick the fighters out, we need privacy,” he answered, and I didn’t get far before he stopped me. “And, Skeet? You’re to stay here for this.”

“I’ll run Aurora home then?—”

“You’re my right-hand, so fucking act like it. Make one of those rich pricks pick her up.”

“They’re in class. It honestly won’t take me long.”

“If you fucking leave, don’t bother coming back,” he said sharply. “We have better shit to do with our time than running bitches around like a taxi service. You’re either part of this crew, or you’re not. End of story. Brick or Diesel can take her home if you really don’t want her walking back, but you’d better not walk out that damn door. I mean it.”

He shoved past me and I struggled not to throw a punch at the back of his head. I already knew the plan, I was here when he’d said it to Lonnie and knew what he was up to, so it made sense for me to be the one to miss the meeting.

To save the trouble though, I stalked out of the office and headed towards Diesel, knowing I could trust him to keep her safe.

“What happened? Lonnie skipped out of there like you’d handed her your dick on a platter,” Diesel grunted quietly, his eyes glued to Rory as she laughed at something Mule said.

“Long story. I’ll fill you in later. Slash is calling a meeting and kicking everyone out. He won’t let me leave to take Rory home but said you could. I hate asking, but?—”

“I’d much rather deal with your girlfriend than Slash. No need to beg me,” he joked, irritation washing through me.

“She’s not my girlfriend, asshole.”

“So you keep saying. Am I taking her to Holloway’s, or your house?” he asked dryly, fishing his keys from his pocket.

“Holloway’s place. I have a feeling Slash will keep me here all fucking day out of spite,” I sighed, patting his shoulder in thanks before walking towards Rory and her friend. Her friend took a step back from me as I approached, but Rory took a step closer and winced.

“Am I in trouble?”

“You’re always in fucking trouble. We’ve got Psychos business to deal with, so everyone needs to clear out. I can’t run you home, so Diesel will.”

“Will you fill me in later?” she asked slowly, and I almost said yes. I couldn’t tell her shit though, and I had to remind myself of that.

“It’s none of your business. Just do as you’re told,” I said firmly and went to turn, but she grabbed my wrist to stop me.
