Thankfully, it was there when I arrived, so I parked beside it and wandered inside, almost getting knocked over by Diesel as he appeared in front of me just inside the door.

“You can’t be here,” he hissed, making me frown.

“Why not? Skeet wasn’t home, so?—”

“Now isn’t the time for you to be curious. Get in your car and go home,” he said sharply, cursing as the sound of motorcycles sounded outside. “Jesus Christ. You’re going to get your ass killed, Donovan.”

“What’s going on?” I asked slowly, just as Slash stalked over.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” I stumbled slightly as he grabbed the front of my shirt and yanked me closer. “You’re on your last fucking warning, I swear to God. I’m going to?—”

The door opened and Slash shoved me out of the way, a dark chuckle coming from the new guy, who’d just stepped inside. “Sorry, am I interrupting something?”

“I told you not to come here,” Slash scowled, and Diesel grabbed my wrist to tug me back a few steps, moving to stand in front of me to act as a shield.

My eyes dropped to the logo on the guy’s leather jacket, seeing he was part of the Devil’s Armada crew.

Whoever this guy was, he was obviously dangerous, and this could turn into a crew shoot-out fast.

“When have I ever listened to you?” he grinned, his dark brown eyes sliding to me. “Who do we have here?”

“None of your fucking business,” I said sweetly, my eyes widening a fraction as the man who’d injected me stepped inside next, his eyes flashing with amusement at my reaction. If these guys were all part of a rival crew, that meant it was areallybad thing that one of them had been inside my house.

Maybe he’d tried to overdose me but it hadn’t worked?

He didn’t have a jacket on, but I had a feeling he was a member from the way he carried himself.

“Get in the fucking office. This doesn’t concern you,” Slash spat at me, his eyes narrowing when he noticed a bandage on the second guy’s forearm. “What happened to you? Pissed someone off already?”

The man smirked, looking right at me. “A hellcat got me. Thanks for your concern, Russo.”

Slash glanced back at me when he noticed the man staring, and I quickly averted my gaze.

Would I get in trouble for not telling Skeeter about this guy?

“Get your eyes off her. She’s ours,” Slash said, surprising me slightly.

“That’s news to me,” I mumbled, wincing as Diesel elbowed me a little harder than necessary. “What?”

“Shut the fuck up,” he said under his breath, and I sighed.

“Why? The one on the left looks a little bit shifty. I vote you kill him,” I said flatly, forcing myself to stay still as the man in question took a step closer.

“I’m Marco. What’s a pretty thing like you doing in this shithole?” His smile was sly as he assessed me, his voice dropping. “You look familiar. Have we met before?”

“No. I’d remember a fucked up face like yours for sure,” I answered, scowling as I was jerked away and Skeeter stood in front of me, his gun aimed at Marco’s head. “Skeet!”

“Shut the fuck up!” Skeeter barked at me, taking a menacing step towards Marco. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?”

“Good to see you too, man. You practically invited us, so don’t act surprised that we showed up,” Marco snorted, not seeming fazed by the gun that was pointed at him. “Your girlfriend isn’t putting out right if you’re still this tense.”

“She’s not my girlfriend.”

“Oh, my bad. She’s available then? Hey, Princess. How about you come home with me and Hunter? You’ll come so many times you’ll pass out,” Marco said as he leaned a little to the left to see me from behind Skeeter. “I’ll even let you spend the night to snuggle.”

Skeeter snarled but the other guy, who I assumed was Hunter, rolled his eyes and motioned for Marco to step back, which he did immediately.

“We’re not here to fuck your girl, we’re here to return another.” He clicked his fingers and Lonnie was dragged in by someone else, tape across her mouth and her arms bound behind her back. Her eyes went wide as she was forced to her knees in front of Skeeter, muffled noises coming from behind the tape as she panicked. “We know what you’re up to. Why bother spying when you could be a man and ask me what you want to know?”
