“I love you too.”

He slowed, his fingers moving between us to gently toy with my clit. “You don’t have to say it back. You can take all the time in the world.”

“I can’t do this without you and the guys. Promise me that you’re on my side,” I begged, crying out as he started fucking me harder.

“I’m never going to hurt you again. I promise.”

My arms wrapped around him to keep him close as he fucked my emotions back into place, and by the time he gave me my millionth orgasm as he finished, I was sobbing.

“No matter how dark it gets inside your head, I’ll always pull you back out,” he murmured as he cleaned the mess he’d left between my legs with his shirt before lifting me. “Fuck the movie. Jacuzzi and a nap?”

I was exhausted, and it honestly sounded good, so I let him carry me up to his bathroom, where we soaked in the tub until our skin looked like prunes and the water was cold.

Caden

Rory was asleep the second I placed the blanket over her in her bed, and I sat on the edge of the mattress, stroking her hair as I stared at her. I shouldn’t have touched her when her emotions were such a mess, but I was desperate to get my hands on her.

“What are you doing?” I glanced up to find Tyler hovering in the doorway, annoyance on his face. “Leave her alone, dude.”

“She knows I’m here,” I answered, forcing myself to stand and leave the room, not wanting to wake her up.

“She knows you’re creeping like a weirdo?” he scoffed, peering over at her to make sure she was okay.

“Some shit happened this morning. She needed me,” I replied, quietly closing the door behind me and motioning for him to follow me downstairs.

“What happened?”

“I’ll tell you once I know we’re alone.”

“That doesn’t sound good,” he muttered, impatiently waiting for me to check the house before harassing me again. “Did someone hurt her?”

“Not exactly. She left with Slash this morning and he locked her in a room with my dad,” I said with a sigh, raking a hand through my hair. “She freaked out and killed him.”

“Wait, she killed your dad?” he asked with surprise.

“Yeah. It was pretty bad. I didn’t see him, but she was covered in blood. It was different this time though. Her emotions shut off about it.”

“She’ll freak out later. Jesus, man. Why didn’t you call me?”

I blew out a breath, dropping onto a chair at the table. “Skeet called and asked me to bring her home when he found her. By the time I got her home, showered, and comfortable, you showed up. I think a bunch of people crowding her would just piss her off right now, or she would’ve called Luke and Jense to come and get her. She wantedme, Ty. I wasn’t going to fuck it up by handing her off to someone else.”

“Luke probably wouldn’t have answered anyway. His mom showed up at school and caused a scene because he won’t go home,” he cringed, sitting opposite me. “She blasted him about Jense.”

“What the fuck did she say?” I snapped, fury racing through me.

“Enough that Luke left with her. Jense is freaking out at home, trying to get Lukas to answer the phone. I was coming to get you to see if you wanted to try and bust Lukas out without his mom seeing him leave,” he admitted, his gaze sliding to the empty staircase. “But I think you should stay here.”

“Can I ask you a question?” I mumbled, drawing his attention. “Have you been sneaking around with Rory and keeping it from me?”

“No, why?” he asked slowly.

“Luke and Jense have. I just wanted to know if I was the only one being kept in the dark,” I chuckled lightly, feeling like an idiot. “She slept with Luke, and I had no idea they’d even seen her. Guess they didn’t tell either of us.”

“Luke won’t risk losing her again, dude. Of course he’d keep her secrets from us, and Jense will always side with Luke. Why has she forgiven them but not us?” he grumbled, resting hiselbows on the table, narrowing his eyes when I didn’t reply. “Has she forgiven you?”

“I wouldn’t say it’s forgiveness, but it’s a start. Pretty sure she’s only kept you in the dark because she knows you tell me everything,” I said carefully. “Sorry.”

“If she ran to me for help, I wouldn’t tell you shit. No offense, but I stuck by you over her last time, and look what happened. Next time, you’re on your own. You’re my brother, but I’ll be calling you on your bullshit in the future,” he grunted, and I couldn’t blame him. I was lucky he was even still talking to me.
