“I don’t want to.” He removed Allegra’s arms andstoodup.
Allegra looked surprised, shocked by his action. She then looked at Amy andassessedher.
“I see, she’s another addition to your ever-growing list of bedfriends.”
He’d known Allegra a very long time. They weren’t a couple, not by a long shot, but they were together often. This was probably the part where he should talk down any concerns she clearly had over Amy. But he didn’t want to do that,either.
“No. I’m not that lucky, sweetheart,” he replied and shockedthemboth.
Allegra looked like he slapped her in the face and Amy simply lookedstunned.
Allegra turned on her heel and walked off. Once she was out of the room he returned his focustoAmy.
“What time do we need toleave?”
“What?” Surprise filledherface.
“The surfingcompetition.”
“We couldleavenow.”
He nodded. “Yeah, let’sgonow.”
