“Yeah?”

“Yes, I turned my basement into an art studio.”

“The whole basement?”

“Yep. The whole damn thing. I couldn’t confine anything to a room. It was too small, so I just converted the basement.”

I could see myself doing something similar. “That sounds cool.”

“I’ll show you when...” His voice trailed off, and I smiled.

I turned to face him. “When what?”

“When you come to see me.”

I marveled at that. “Can’t wait. I even know the way.”

His lips arched, and he tweaked my nose playfully, taking two tapered oil paint brushes from my set.

“So, you’re going for oil?”

“Yup. You?”

“Yeah.” It had been awhile. Mostly, I’d been doing water colors. I was in the mood for something bolder today.

I handed him a canvas, and we both got ourselves set up with some easels and some of my other supplies.

Hunter grabbed his phone and smirked at me. “You like music while you paint? Or are you the silent type?”

“Music.” I could do either, but the music motivated me.

“What kind?”

“Well, since I read that somebody’s famous grandfather liked listening to violin music while they painted, and the guy was sort of my muse, I took up the habit.”

He laughed. “Yeah, me too. It’s the tune. Piano music can do the same thing too, he said. Anything else makes the brain work overtime, and you lose focus.”

I didn’t know that. “Really? I just thought he liked it.”

“He did. But he made all his students listen to violin music to inspire their creativity. He made me listen to it because it tamed my heavy metal, rock-loving ass down.” He laughed.

“You like heavy metal and rock?”

He flicked his long locks. “Can’t you tell?”

“I thought you were trying to look like Brad Pitt inLegends of the Fall.”

“Of course, how could I forget?” He chuckled and scrolled through the music on his phone.

Vivaldi came on vibrant and inspiring. He turned the music down to an appreciative volume. It was just low enough to be enjoyed and do the job.

“Okay, let’s paint.” He smiled. He placed a brush behind his ear, and it looked super sexy. The other one, he placed between his teeth and grinned.

I chuckled and got started on my piece.

Today, I felt like painting the landscape by the river near the studio.

The other day, when the wind was blowing really strong and it rained so heavily, it had looked like a clash of a meteor shower in the trees. To me it was a blend of silver and green with hues of gray.
