“Look love, you were plastered right from the minute I entered the pub. You didn’t know your head from your arse.”
“Pub?” I knew what he meant, but I was being childish now.
“I’m English, in case you didn’t bloody notice.”
I noticed alright, and his fucking accent was turning me on and annoying the hell out of me. “This is America. Speak American. We weren’t in a pub. We were in abar.”
Jesus Christ, I knew that was incredibly rude. I knew it even as the words left my mouth, but I couldn’t take it back.
“Oh my God.” He widened his eyes and looked at me as if I was crazy, and he was probably right to look like that.
But I didn’t care. I was freaking out. I was freaked and overreacting. But I didn’t care.
“I’m leaving,” I said dismissively.
“Well, don’t let me stop you. Bloody hell, I seriously wish I’d known what the hell I was in for last night. I would have sure as hell minded my own business.”
“Ughh,” I scoffed turning on my heel.
I didn’t need this shit. I didn’t.
Best to leave. Or flee. Just like I did this morning.
Chapter 5

God, what a fuckingmess.
What the hell mess had I landed myself into?
Okay... maybe I could have dealt with the part where John told me I had to compete for the position. That fucking pissed me off to no end because I hated surprises of any kind, and one like that was off the charts unacceptable. But I could have dealt with it. After all, it wasn’t like I didn’t know what he could be like. I’d practically studied the man and followed his talent for years. I knew what I was up against.
What I wasn’t prepared for was finding out my competition was Jia.
