“I can do many things.”
“Then help us. Join us.” I couldn’t stand her. But help was help, didn’t matter where it came from.
“No, I will do no such thing. I will not piss off evil and put my people in more danger. Danger you have brought to our door. You and this girl. A syph. All so interesting, but so terrifying too.”
“What is the game?” I just wanted to get the hell out of here.
“I want you to fight our best warrior, but as a human.”
“What?”I snapped thinking about the absurdity of it.
“I want you to become Sir Dante, Templar Knight to Richard the Third.” She smirked with a wicked grin and rubbed her bony hands together.
I looked over at Alyssa who looked so much more terrified now.
“I accept.”

Ihated that he couldn’thear me.
Granted, I was crying yet again, but I was terrified and couldn’t help it.
I didn’t know what was going to happen.
Wouldn’t the elf queen’s best warrior be an elf too?
My question was answered when the walls around us moved, sliding out on either side to reveal a massive courtyard. The wall to the right of the queen’s side opened and a hideous creature walked out, stomping into the courtyard.
His face was grotesque and looked like a cross between a rhino, a boar, and a bat.
That was the best way that I could describe it.
Large tusks were visible in its mouth and slime dripped down his chest.
His hairy, hairy chest. His whole bulky body was covered in hair, and this thing was tall, very tall. Like fifteen feet tall.
The queen laughed as her warrior moved forward with confidence.
A sword, big and broad appeared in his hand and he held it high and growled a fierce growl that reverberated off the walls. It rippled through the glass case I was in and into me making my soul shiver.
Jesus, please help us.
That was me praying now. I was praying because I didn’t know if Dante could fight that creature as a man.
The queen loosened the fine golden chain that held him in place and waved her hand in a circular motion.
“Revertio discadentio.” She cooed with delight and smiled wider when Dante transformed into the knight he was when he was human.
His hair was the first thing that changed. It grew longer and stopped at his elbow, then the vast bulk of muscle decreased to what I would definitely call human sized. Now he looked just like a regular guy who worked out at the gym.
His clothes were the last thing. Armor covered him and then the red and white emblems for the Knights of Templar.
A whirlwind of magical gold dust carried with it a sword which he reached for and gripped when it came to him.
