I hold his gaze. “Four months…”

“Four months of nights like last night. That’s what I’m offering you. You don’t think about the details or the fine print. We just exist in the same sphere of madness that took us last night.”

He’s right to put it that way. It was my idea to go back to the beach at midnight and swim around naked together, then have sex on the beach. It was like something had possessed me and I couldn’t stop. We couldn’t stop.

Four months of that?

Who could say no to that?

“Four months of nights like last night.” I whisper and he nods.

“Quinn, you do realize I’m just being cordial for you so you don’t have any reason to get worked up when you see me talking to a woman you thought was supposed to be a man.” he laughs.

“She was flirting with you.”

“Yes, she was. But this is you knowing I won’t be flirting back. You can rest assured your boyfriend will keep his dick in his pants, unless you want to take it out. Then you know it’s just you taking it out.”

Only he could make me laugh at an angst filled time like this. “Point taken.”

“Good. Also, I’m going to have sex with you every time I see you.”

I laugh again.

“You think I’m joking?” he adds.

“What if I say no?”

He stands up and slides up to me with that cocky smirk on his face. “Baby, you won’t say no to me. What you need to do is stop being afraid to want me. Your body will always betray you when it comes to me so stop trying to resist me, and say yes.”

Arousal in undiluted waves crash into me, making my mouth water and my toes curl. The man is too sexy for his own damn good. And he knows it. The smile on his face shows he fully knows what he’s doing to me.

“Will Monica and friends be upset with me for stealing their boyfriend?” I tease.

“No, because I was always yours.” He winks. “Give me your answer Cambray.”

“Yes,” I reply and the sound of that word in my ears sends a dizzy rush of happiness through me.

Happiness…

When was the last time I felt that?

True happiness.

It flows through me like a warm glow lit by the man standing before me.

He cups my face and we stare at each other. In his eyes I see the sanctuary of respite I want to curl up and stay in forever.

It feels like I just opened the door to something good.

“So, there we go,” Joey says waving toward the opened doors of the new dance studio.

Bree and I walk in as Joey steps aside.

As I take in the beautiful décor I fall in love with the place. It feels like I just stepped into one of the exquisite studios at Juilliard, only this is mine. Well, Lilly’s. she would have been so proud.

I can almost imagine her looking down from heaven with pride.
