“No, it’s not. It’s not gone.” I shake my head and smile.
“Really, Logan?”
“Yeah. Not this time. I don’t think Lilly meant for this place to be without it.So it won’t be. I think she wanted the right people to live here, who would love the place the way it was,the same way she did with my uncle.” She wanted people here to have the same kind of love they had where I know they even loved each other in death.
I can imagine them now walking down the path over by the boathouse, hand in hand.
The way I will with my girl.
“I believe you,” Bree replies.“What will you do?”
The back door opens in the distance and Quinn steps out.As she makes her way over to us, I smile.
“Rebuild it.”
Chapter 53
Quinn
Bree gives me a hug when I get up to her and Logan.
“I’ll leave you two to talk,” she says.
“Okay, we’ll see you in a little while.” I watch her head toward the house and Ethan opens the door for her.
I then return my attention to the man before me.
What a horrible day we’ve had, but I’mgoing to do everything I can to make it end well.
Logan moves closer to me and pulls me into his arms for a kiss.
“Are you okay?” he whispers against my lips.
“I am now.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I made a copy of the files.I hope you don’t think I was going to use it without you knowing.”
I shake my head. “No, I didn’t.I’m glad you made the copy. Now I know I won’t have to worry about Riley at all.
“Yeah.” He dips his head then looks back at me with a spark in his eyes.“I’ll never leave you like that again, Quinn.And every time you call me from now on, I’ll always answer.I will never cause you to worry about me the way you must have been over the last few days.”
“You better not Logan Savage, but I take the blame too.” I nod.
He cups my face. “No, I was a coward.I was trying to avoid hearing you tell me you didn’t want to be with me, but what I should have said is we’ll find a way to work things out.”
My lips part and I smile at him.“Will we?”
“Yes. We’re not selling the house and I’m going to rebuild your studio.We’re not breaking up. That’s not happening ever again.I won’t give you up and I won’t give up on us the way I did ten years ago.”
I reach up and touch his face.“I’m not giving up on us either.”
“Good, because it’ll be easier to do what I have planned if we have the same ideas.You’ll go to New York and I’ll figure out a way to see you.Thenwhen my contract ends, I’ll figure out what to do next that will allow me to be with you.” His words caress my heart.“When you’re ready, we’re going to fill that house with kids and the same memories we had.That’s what we’re going to do.”
My smile brightens, and a tear tracks down my cheeks.“I like that plan. It sounds perfect.I think it’s going to be even easier to rebuild the dance studio, fill the house with kids, and memories now that I’m staying in Wilmington.”
His eyebrows shoot up. “What?No, I don’t want you to do that.I want you to do what makes you happy.”
“I will be. You make me happy, Logan Savage.You do. I love you.”
