Tyler: I thought we did? Fuck everyone else.
I stifled a laugh.
Rain: Is this our talk then? Are we dating? Just having sex? If the article comes out, we’ll have to act as if we’re dating, but is that what you actually want? I meant everything I said. I am not worth this.
Tyler: Shut. Up.
Rain: Tyler…
Tyler: You and I can get into it later. Right now, we’re on a plane. Maybe you should let me make my own decisions?
Tyler: I’m a simple guy.
Tyler: If I want something, I just want it.
Tyler: I want you.
Tyler: I don’t see that going away. So we can use whatever word you want.
Tyler: I want to be the guy in your bed. I want to be the guy who gives you a ride somewhere.
Tyler: I want to hold your hand and get cuddles from you and I want your smile turned my way.
Tyler: And I don’t want to do that with anyone else.
“Damn, Griff. Are you writing a novel? Who are you texting?” I heard someone ask him from a few rows behind.
“Fuck off,” Tyler growled
A few guys laughed.
“Who’s the girl?”
“Or guy! He could be texting a guy.”
“Whoever it is, it’s your honey. Right? There’s no one in my life I’m texting a complete novel to unless it’smysomeone. You got a someone, Griff?”
It got quiet. My phone buzzed just as Tyler said, “Yeah. I got a someone.”
“Good for you, man.”
I read his last text.
Tyler: I liked you, and then I thought I couldn’t like you, so I hated you. Except I didn’t actually hate you. I just wanted to hate you, and now I know for sure I don’t hate you at all. I like you. I don’t want to fight it anymore.
Tyler: So there.
Tyler: Also
Tyler: Will you be my someone?
My heart squeezed as fear, panic, and something else flooded me.
Falling.Fuck. I was still falling for him. I don’t think I had ever stopped.
Rain: You know my head is messed up when it comes to personal relationships. I believe I mentioned that.
Tyler: Baby, that’s the most shrink thing you could’ve said to me right now. FYI, I don’t care how messed up your head is. Talk to me when you’re questioning something, and I think we’ll be okay.
