She did and set the pone on the counter. “Angel? It’s Sasha.”

“Hi, Sasha. Nik is back. He says we can come through around nine tonight.” Angel reported. “You down?”

“Of course!” I all but cheered.

“Cool. Send me your address and I’ll swing by and get you.” Angel told me. “Oh, and try to not look like a cop.”

I arched my brow. “What does that even mean?”

“Do I have to translate it for you, Detective?” His voice dropped to a very sexy tone. “Wear something sexy.”

Before I could tell him off, Angel was gone. I groaned and looked up to see Eris was smiling at me. She knew I didn’t do well in certain situations.

Being sexy was one of those situations.

And Angel was about to bring me into one of those.

“We should go through your bags to see if you have anything.” Eris said.

“I don’t.”

Eris sighed. “And I don’t have anything you could get into. This is what happens when your best friend is entirely skinnier than you.”

I scoffed.

“And besides, the only sexy thing I had was some lingerie and Ghoul’s already shredded it.”

We both laughed.

“Well, we need to find you something cute.” Eris pointed out. “Get in the car!”

“Wait, what?” I stumbled out of the chair as she dragged me after her.

“Ghoul, we’re going shopping!” She hollered, snagging the keys from the hook.

“Shopping?” Ghoul asked. “My sexy Goddess, willingly going shopping? Flying pigs outside?”

“Love you—byeee!” She giggled.

“Hold it!” Ghoul called.

Eris stopped to look back at him, and I stepped out of the way. Ghoul leaned in to kiss her deeply. “This is for you.” He hunched down to kiss her stomach. “And this is for you. Have fun you three.”

I watched as my friend beamed at her boyfriend then continued tugging me out the door. On the way to the mall, I broke out into hot sweats. Shopping had never been my thing—neither was looking sexy. Even in high school, all the girls showed up painted and tucked. The boys fell all over them and I wandered around wondering why I looked like a painting from the reject pile each time I tried.

The crowd at the mall was another thing that annoyed me. Still, I allowed Eris to take me into one store then another. We managed to pick out an entire outfit, including shoes and few things for my hair.

By the time we arrived home again, Ghoul was gone to Metal and Ghoul and Camille was asleep in her room with her phone in her hand.

I spent the rest of the time catching up with Mia and freaking out about what Angel meant. Around seven, I showered and dressed. When I descended the stairs, Eris was talking to someone on her computer. She looked up and smiled.

“Well, hello there!” Eris teased. “Angel won’t know what hit him.”

“This is not for Angel.”

“Me thinks thou protests too much.” Eris told me as she turned her screen. “Tex, what do you think?”

“You look lovely.” Tex grinned. “John Keegan, Tex if you will.”
