What does that mean?
“Baby!” Bailey squealed happily as she came.
Her other cries were muffled but I was too far gone to see why.
I didn’t care why.
All I wanted was for her to come again.
Chapter 8
Bailey
I wasn’t myself when Rei Hakama made love to me. I wasn’t the same, shy Bailey who’d run from sex for as long as I could. I wasn’t sure what it was about him, but he made me feel like the most beautiful creature in the world.
Maybe it was the way he held me.
Could it be the way he touched me, his fingertips dragging over my body, digging into my flesh knowing I wouldn’t break?
Whatever it was, my body fell apart for him and I willingly gave over to the heated glow of it all. When he roared his release, I wrapped my arms around him and cuddled into his chest as we both tried remembering how to breathe again.
We remained in the silent dark, watching the light become brighter and brighter as morning descended over the small island. A rooster crowed from somewhere in the distance.
A dog barked, perhaps at the rooster and someone was screaming for the dog to be quiet. I smiled and cuddled deeper into his arms. Rei kissed the top of my head and pulled me tighter and I sighed.
“I don’t want to face reality yet.” I admitted.
“You don’t have—”
His phone rang.
I wanted to cry.
Rei held onto me with one hand and reached for the cell. “Hakama.”
“It’s Tex.”
He must have placed it on speaker.
“What’s up, brother?” Rei asked.
“I’ve been keeping an eye on that mansion.” Tex told him. “There’s been movement.”
Both of us looked at each other. “What?” We chorused.
“I noticed shadows inside through a window.” Tex replied. “Someone is inside.”
“Good call, Tex.”
“I’m still digging on the Hougans for you.”
Rei thanked him and he was gone. I sat up and exhaled.
“I can’t be in two places at once.” Rei told me.
“What do you mean?”
“Someone has to pick Dude up at the airport.” Rei pointed out.
