I caught up with him and the other guys when I was back in town a few weeks ago. He’s still the same quiet, broody guy I remember.
“Hey, man,” I answer.
Grady grunts.“Heard you met someone.”
“Mary,” I sigh.
“She’s excited for you.”
I snort.“I know. She was practically planning our wedding and future kids’ names when I told her.”
That earns me a chuckle as I head inside.
“What’s her name?”
“Blair. She works at the bank in town.”
“Hmm.”
“She’s it for me, man. She’s the one.”
“You’ve been dating for two days,” he deadpans.
I toss my keys on the entryway table and smile at the decorations.“I’ve known her for months,” I correct.“I’ve been dating her for two days.”
“You don’t think that’s too fast?”
I wonder if he’s asking for a specific reason.“You meet someone?”
Silence greets me.
“Grady?”
“Maybe,” he relents.
I chuckle.“Grady Cross is in love!”
“Shut up.I knew calling you was a mistake.”
“What’s her name?Has Mary planned your wedding yet?”
“Oh, my god,” he groans.
“She has, hasn’t she!”
“Her name is Angel. That’s all you're getting.”
“For now.I’ll talk to Mary later and get all the details.”
He sighs, and I grin as I collapse on the couch.
“To answer your question,” I continue.“No, I don’t think it’s too soon. When you know, you know.”
“Yeah,” he says quietly.Man, he’s got it bad.
“Can’t wait to meet your girl,” I add.
“Yours too.”
