“No, cupcake. Don’t cry. I want you to look at me when I tell you this. I am not leaving you, ever. We’re only just getting started and you’re stuck with me. Always. I’m not going anywhere.”

“I love you, Drake,” she whispers, and god, I find myself growing hard again, still inside her.

“Emmy, if you think you can tell me you love me when I’m still inside you and then go and quit on me, think again.”

She lets out a happy laugh, but her breath catches when she feels me inside her.

“And I’d love to be your wife,” she says, rocking her hips against me and making it really hard to control myself.

“You’re about to get it, Emmy. Keep talking.”

“And I want to have your babies too. I love you, Drake.” I smile back wolfishly as she raises her arms and I pull her shirt over her head.

“I love you too, Emmy. And I’m about to make you the happiest, most well-fucked wife in all the land.”

“In that case,” she says, wriggling out of her bra. “I think you should shut up and kiss me. Your fiancée expects at least four orgasms a day.”

“Four? Well, I think we can do better than that,” I tease, lowering my mouth to hers.

Epilogue 1

Emmy

Two years later

“Ready, Emmy girl?” Pop asks, and I glance over at him, grinning as another fat tear rolls down his face. For the last hour, he’d alternated between letting out a big sniff and wiping his eyes.

“Pop,” I sigh, still grinning as I shake my head at him. “You’re such a softie.”

“You look so beautiful, I can’t help it.” He gives me a watery grin as I look back at the mirror, my beautiful ivory gown swishing a little as I turn.

I’ve been waiting for this day for what feels like forever. My wedding day.

My wedding day!

“Oh, Pop, thank you. Yes, I am. I am so ready.”

“No cold feet for you two, huh?” Pop lets out a happy chuckle.

“Never. Have you seen him?” I ask. “Does he look all right?”

Pop shrugs. “He’s wearing this blue suit and…”

“Pop! You know that’s not what I meant.”

He rolls his eyes. “He looks about the same as you do now. All goofy looking and happy. I never realized he had such nice teeth, Emmy, and I saw ‘em all, he was grinning that big.”

I bounce a little on the balls of my feet.

“He looks happy?”

“Thrilled, Emmy girl, and I expected nothing less from him. He’s looking forward to seeing thetwoof you.”

He nods to my midriff, and I smooth my hand over my protruding belly. “We’re looking forward to seeing him too.”

One afternoon, six months ago, I’d walked into Drake’s office to join him for lunch, taken one whiff of the Chinese he’d picked up from the restaurant around the corner, and promptly stuck my head down the toilet as I threw up.

Drake had held my hair back, rubbing smooth circles across my back until I was done, and after he’d settled me on his couch, he poked his head out of the door and asked Alice to make an appointment with an OB-GYN later that day.
