"Come on, Red." He grins, staring back at me. He tilts his head slightly, his gaze moving down over my body.
I practically feel him undressing me, and I glance away with a nervous laugh. "You are such a flirt. How many girls have you taken for a coffee date to the hockey arena?"
"You're the first," he says, and that admission steals my breath.
I tuck my hair behind my ear, trying not to fidget as I bite my bottom lip. "Never took you for a virgin," I joke.
"Trust me,Red, when it comes to sex, I'm not a virgin."

Charlotte is beautiful, funny and, most of all, gives me an instant hard-on from the minute we step foot outside of her apartment for ourcoffee date, which was a fantastic idea, taking her to the arena for coffee. I never expected that the girl knew how to play ice hockey. I figured I was taking a chance if she knew how to ice skate.
She seems perfect.
Of course, so did Jasmine, until she cheated on me.
I don't get involved in relationships. Flings, yes. They're easy and far less complicated. But there's something about Charlotte that makes me want to see where this leads.
It's dangerous.
Putting my career first and foremost has molded and shaped who I am as a player for the Ice Dragons with the NHL. I didn't get this good by sitting around on my ass and taking hot chicks to movies and on long dinner dates.
Not that I don't enjoy a little flirting and foreplay, because I do, but investing my time in a relationship has never panned out well for me.
Yet here I am, situated on Charlotte's couch, my arm wrapped around her shoulders while we watch a predominately girly film that she picked out.
And for some reason, I don't mind it. I mean, the plot is pretty simple. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Girl breaks boy's heart. Girl apologizes, and boy eventually forgives her.
At least, I assume that's the way the story goes. But I've stopped paying much attention to the screen as I'm drawn toward Charlotte's red locks and her cute pouty bottom lip that she keeps tugging between her teeth.
Keeping my cock in my pants is trying. Not that I'd just whip it out but, damn, that hundred-dollar bill I gave to the delivery driver for his last condom in his billfold. And it doesn't look like we'll be using it, at least not for a couple of hours.
Which isn't the worst thing. Spending time with a beautiful girl is nice. There's a calmness to being around Charlotte that warms me from the inside. She heightens my senses, every one of them.
"Are you bored?" she asks, her voice soft like honey, and she methodically tilts her head toward me, staring up at me with bright blue eyes like jewels of the sea.
"I just love predictable romance movies." My voice drips with sarcasm, and she cuddles up against me, letting me pull her closer. I drag her into my lap, needing a reprieve from the film that is putting me to sleep.
At least now I know what to do the next time I have a bout of insomnia, which isn't too often. Mostly, it's after a game when I haven't quite wound down from a win.
She reaches for the remote, and I can only surmise that she's about to hand it to me when my phone buzzes in my pocket. I thought I had it completely turned off.
Charlotte's cell phone rings on the end table beside the sofa. "Sorry, I meant to put it on silent," she says, climbing off me while reaching for her phone and silencing the call.
"Let me guess, it's Amber." My phone vibrates. I shift on the sofa and dig into my pocket to see Jasper's name on my screen as he's trying to get ahold of me.
"Jasper," she muses, glancing at my screen, coming back to sit down beside me. Already, I miss the warmth of her body nestled on my lap. "Do you think they want to ask us how our coffee date went?"
I click ignore on my phone and shrug, sliding my phone onto the coffee table. "Probably. I can't imagine he's calling to see if I made it home okay."
The laughter vibrates through her chest as she leans back on the sofa and lets me wrap my arm around her. "You're funny. I like that about you," Charlotte says. "I have an idea."
"Uh oh. Nothing good ever came from those four words."
She grabs the throw pillow and whacks me playfully in the chest with it. "We should play a prank on Amber and Jasper."
