“Oh yeah,” Holden laughs. He plugs his laptop up to the big screen and clicks open a file. The compound that Charlie has been hiding in fills the screen. It gives us every access point, where the cameras are, where he can put guards, everything we need to sneak in. We still have to be careful because it might not be exactly the same, but this gives us the advantage. “I’m guessing all his plans were hidden at Amber’s. All those grenade launchers you guys kept finding? He was planning on using them to take out all of our businesses here. The weapon diagram you guys found? He was going to have them set around our homes. Chelsea’s, the one you guys were staying in, ours, Evie’s, and Bridget’s. He’s been stalking our every move for years. Also, check this shit out.” He pulls up another file, and I brace myself for the reaction. I already know what’s on it because I’m the one who uncovered it. “Nolan had suspicions and dug deeper. This confirms it. Charlie was also working with none other than Grant Augustus and Victor Orlov. That’s where he got all his information on us.”
“What the fuck?” Les explodes, sitting up on the couch. Leo and Gage each place a hand on her thigh.
“I knew they had to have some sort of connection,” I explain. “Because there’s no other way Charlie would have even known about Micah and Van selling their houses. He placed Brady and Amber at the right times to gain access. I also looked into the bullshit about their names still being on the deeds, and Brady was telling the truth.”
“We need to find whatever he has hidden there,” Zane says. “If any of this shit gets out, they’ll put us under the prison.”
“We’ll do that before we go after Charlie,” Axel agrees. “We should have grabbed Amber when we had the chance.”
“Nik called and said she didn’t leave the hospital. Either she worked a double, or she slipped out the back,” Ryder says. “Charlie already knows you guys grabbed Brady by now, and you were in Amber’s apartment. That means he knows that you probably have all of this.”
“So we need to move,” Cole cuts in. “I don’t want anyone going down just because Charlie is pissed at us.”
“I don’t think that’s the reason,” I reply. “Some of this stuff goes back to when you guys were kids. Charlie has always planned to take Abbs Valley down. He had information on Luca Poletti when he was the leader of the Italians.”
“Why?” Chelsea asks.
“Power,” Les and Axel answer at the same time.
“Charlie has always had a big ego,” Axel continues. “Having the Saviors was never enough. When I killed Cole’s dad, he gained power back over Cole and me because he threatened Chelsea. He knew that was the surefire way to make us fall back in line.”
“Do you think he knew you would overthrow him?” Gage asks.
“I do now. I also think he led us back to Forest Grove on purpose. He knew we’d run back to Chelsea, eventually. He just didn’t count on her meeting Sean and Kai first. Tell them what you found on Sarah Koval, Naughty boy.”
Holden hands me the cord to plug into my laptop, and I bring up the file. “Sarah Koval. Twenty-six. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to a crazy religious family. Like, insane. There are all kinds of newspaper articles about their church. Anyway, I can’t find anything on her after the age of seventeen. I’m guessing that’s when she ran.” I pull up the pictures that I found, and Chelsea gasps.
“That’s her. I wonder when Charlie got ahold of her and how?”
A commotion at the front of the house has us all looking toward the entrance to the living room. Gray marches in, looking extremely pissed. “I want in.”
“Gray,” Axel sighs.
“This motherfucker is trying to take my family down, Axel. I. Want. In.”
Les shrugs apologetically. “We need all hands on deck. We can bring the other girls here, I’ll stay with them, and a couple of guys. Gray, you need to take Maria to Marcella’s so Gio and Vin can watch over her. Willow and Luca are already there.”
“Micah’s already on his way. I’ll tell Hart and them to bring Evie here.”
“I’ll message Ghost,” Sean says, already pulling his phone out. “We need to see if Amber is still at the hospital or not.”
“My guess is not,” Gray says. “I’ll call Nik.”
While they’re making phone calls and plans, Holden and I keep digging through the information to see if we can find anything to help. Axel’s hand is still stroking the back of my head, and it’s calming me as much as it seems to be calming him. Within minutes, we find out that Amber did slip away, probably to go into hiding with Charlie now that they know we’re on to them. The next few hours pass in a blur then the whole house is full of everyone. Bridget, Les, and Evie took Chelsea upstairs to talk when they got here, leaving us to make plans.
“What’s the plan, Axel?” Gray asks, and all eyes turn to him.
He rolls his shoulders back and sits up on the couch. I watch the leader that is feared across the world come into play. It’s always amazed me to watch this part of him. Any other time, Axel is laid back. It’s like there are two parts of him, and I love each of them the same.
“We need to hit Micah and Van’s old houses first to see what Charlie has. Destroy the evidence so he doesn’t have anything to use. I know he has backups of all this, but this will at least give us a chance to grab him before he releases it. I have no doubt these houses are either being guarded or have surveillance on them.”
“Two teams can take Holden and me to separate houses. If it’s camera surveillance, we can hack into it and make it loop,” I suggest. I see the no right on the tip of Axel’s tongue, and I stare him down. “I can do this.”
“There’s never been a doubt in that,” he answers. He rakes a hand down his face. “Fine. Two large teams. One with Holden and one with Nolan. I need sharpshooters with each team. Hart and Cole can go with me. Zane and Banger can go with the other team. Micah and Van can tell you where your best vantage point is from each house.”
“Leo and I can stay back with the girls,” Gage says.
“I will, too,” Dmitri throws in. “That still leaves plenty for the teams.”
