Les’ gates come into view, and when we pull up the long driveway, Chelsea comes running down the steps. I’m out before anyone else can move and scoop her up in my arms. Her arms go around my neck, her legs around my waist, and she’s sobbing.
“It’s really almost over. Ghost and Caden took him downstairs.”
“I want you to take him out, Dragonfly.” She jerks back to look at my face, surprised because I was initially against it. “You deserve your day of justice, but I want you to let us do our thing first.”
“Make him suffer, Malakai,” she whispers.
“I have plans. Don’t worry.” I’ve worked out every which way I can make him scream since I found out what he did to Chelsea. Whatever he did to her, he’s getting back times a thousand. No one should walk this earth that dares lay a hand on her.
I kiss her slowly and then let her slide to her feet. She goes to each of the guys for a kiss and then leads us into Les’ house. Everyone is waiting for us in the living room, and Les waves her hand for us to sit. Chelsea curls into my lap in one of the chairs, and I hold her so tight that I’m afraid I might crush her. Her entire body is shaking, and I know it’s from emotion and adrenaline.
“Gage and Leo took the kids to Marcella’s, so you don’t have to worry about that. The basement is yours, and unless you need help, we won’t get in the way. Brady’s tied up but still out cold. Did you guys find anything else?”
I pull the three USBs from my pocket, and Chelsea lays them on the coffee table. Cole and Axel lay out one each. Holden and Nolan scoop them up, plugging them into their laptops to run virus scans.
Cole holds up a manilla envelope. “If I open this, and there are naked pics of Charlie, I’m going to vomit.”
Chelsea lets out a watery giggle. “Les might kill you for puking on her floor.”
“She’s right. I know you have a good gag reflex, so just use that,” Les says with a grin. Chelsea laughs out loud and claps a hand over her mouth when Cole looks at her.
“What don’t you say in that group chat?”
“It’s all good, I promise,” Chelsea says, smothering her laugh.
“It better be, Cupcake, because you know what I’m capable of.” Chelsea’s entire face turns red, including her ears.
“I heard all about your sexathon this morning,” Les laughs.
Cole visibly takes a breath before he opens the envelope and dumps the contents out. I burst out laughing when I realize his eyes are closed. “You can slit a man’s throat with no problem, but you can’t look at some pictures?”
“I don’t want to see Charlie’s naked ass, okay?” Cole shudders from head to toe then cracks one eye open to sort through the pictures and documents. “It looks like building plans, a house, and pictures of land.”
Axel leans over to look, then slides it to Les. “That look familiar?”
Les looks closer and, with a sigh, hands it to Zane. “That’s Micah’s old house. He sold it when they bought the new house for Evie.”
“Didn’t Gray used to work for Micah?” I ask Les.
“Yeah. He was and still is his bodyguard. Do you think that has to do with Gray?”
“Charlie mentioned that he was keeping an eye on Gray,” Axel replies. He starts flipping through the rest of the pictures. “I think we just found the evidence Charlie was gloating about. This is all proof that Gray was the Reaper.”
“These aren’t building plans,” Zane cuts in. “They’re weapon designs. They have enough C4 categorized on here to level a whole city block.”
“It’s not a coincidence that Micah’s house is in there. Let me call him to see if he remembers who bought it.” Les pulls out her phone and flips it to speakerphone. Micah answers on the third ring. “I have a question. Do you remember who bought your old house?”
“Yeah, hold on.” We listen to him digging around. “The name was Sarah Koval.”
“Do you remember what she looked like?”
“Brunette and tall. That’s about all I remember. She was flirty, and I was pretty sure Evie was about to stab her. Why?”
“We think your Sarah Koval is our Amber Prudich,” I answer.
“Oh shit. Do you have a picture of Amber?” Nolan nods and shoots a message to Micah. “That’s her.”
“Search everything you can on Sarah Koval. I think we just found her real goddamn name,” Axel tells Nolan, but he’s already typing. “No wonder she checked out the first time. It’s all fake.” Chelsea curls up against my chest, and I watch her entire world fall apart. We’ve finally confirmed Amber was using her but at what cost to Chelsea? This was supposed to be her best friend when she had no one else.
