“No. Fuck off.”

“Sean,” Chelsea laughs. “Leave him alone.”

“I need to look at it. Plus, he needs to change the bandage, and I want to help.”

“Go away so I can finish cooking.”

Sean shakes his head. “Let me change the bandage, and I will.”

“Fuck. Fine.” I pull up the sleeve on my shirt and immediately know I fucked up by the look on his face.

He walks over, rips the old bandage off, and makes sure I can’t see what’s in his hand. He steps back and starts laughing. I look down at it and groan. It’s a fucking girly bandage with unicorns all over it. Chelsea slaps a hand over her mouth, but she can’t hold back the laugh. I’ll walk around with this proudly if I can hear that sound.

“It’s so pretty,” Sean says between laughs.

I shrug and pull my sleeve down. “It is. I held up my end of the deal, so get out.”

“I like it,” Chelsea says, popping a carrot into her mouth. I give Sean a smug smile, and he rolls his eyes.

“Don’t get cocky, you little asshole.”

“If she likes it, I don’t give a flying fuck what anyone else says.”

“That’s the spirit, Naughty boy,” Axel says, walking into the kitchen. Chelsea and I glance at each other and then start dying laughing. Axel flops down on the barstool with a glare. “What’s so damn funny?”

Chelsea pops a kiss on his cheek. “Nothing. Nolan, show him your new bandage.”

I pull my sleeve up, and Axel’s laugh booms through the kitchen.Yep, totally worth it.“Where did you get that?”

“I got it from Evie,” Sean admits. “I told her what I wanted to do, and she sent me back with a box of them.”

Chelsea’s mouth drops open. “Evie did that?”

Axel snorts. “Don’t let her innocent face fool you.” Chelsea subtly rubs her chest where her bandage is. I promised I wouldn’t tell the others, but she needs to whenever she is ready. We both know they are going to flip their shit, and she doesn’t need that right now.

“Where’s the Gorilla?” Sean asks.

“Outside with Cole. They’re trying some experiments.”

“Experiments?” I ask, confused. I go back to the island to finish chopping the vegetables that Sean interrupted me from doing.

“Kai wants to force himself out of his touch issues. Cole volunteered.”

“Is he ready for that?” Chelsea asks, already looking toward the back door.

“Probably not,” Axel admits. “So don’t be surprised if Cole comes in here with a broken nose.”

Sean shrugs and steals a cucumber from the cutting board. “It’s too perfect anyway.”

I hold the knife up and point it at him. “You were supposed to get out.”

“Boys, don’t get blood in my kitchen.”

“Yes, Gorgeous.” Sean bows at the waist in exaggeration but has to catch himself on the island when he stands up. I grab his arm, and the look he gives me is full of fear. “I’m fine,” he whispers.

My eyes flash to Chelsea, who luckily didn’t see, and look back at him. “No, you’re not,” I hiss back. “Are you taking your meds?”

“I don’t like the way they make me feel.”
