“You mean not being a bullheaded asshole?”
I laugh. “Yes, exactly that.”
“Next time, I’m going to let Evie make this phone call. She's wanted to tear you a new asshole for over a week now.”
“Noted.”
“Anyway, I’ll be on Team Gavin tonight. Is everything else in place?”
“Yeah, the documents are done, and I just secured a safe house. I was just about to call Les and let her know.”
“I’ll tell her. Tay and I are about to head over there anyway to get a plan together. We’ll keep you in the loop.”
“Thank you, and Gray? I love you too.”
“See you soon.”
As soon as the call disconnects, the backdoor to the patio busts open, and Nolan comes skidding to a stop in front of me with a huge smile on his face. “I know things.”
I laugh at the excited tone in his voice. “What things do you know, Naughty boy?”
He surprises me by straddling my waist and wrapping his arms around my neck. I slide my hands down his sides and rest them on his hips. “I think Kai got over his no-touching issues. I went upstairs to shower and could hear him and Sean.”
I figured if anyone could push past Kai’s defenses, it would be Sean. Kai has been reacting first and asking questions later since we got back. But he knows that Sean can handle anything he throws at him, and Kai would never risk Chelsea in that way. “Were you spying on them?”
Nolan snorts. “No. They weren’t being quiet at all. But this is good news, right?”
“Of course it is. I knew Kai could work through it. He just needed the right person to help him.”
“And you knew it was Sean?”
I shrug. “I suspected it was Sean. They got really close when they started their relationship with Chels. Plus, Sean is the only one who can talk the shit he does to Kai and not get mutilated for it.”
“This is true.”
Nolan lays his forehead against mine, and I can’t help but kiss him. He accepts it and laces his fingers behind my head. I jerk him closer until we’re plastered chest to chest. Overwhelming feelings for this man in my lap swell to the surface. Now that he’s cemented his relationship with Chelsea, I know that he’s over the feelings of being a placeholder for her. I don’t regret any part of my relationship with Nolan, no matter how fast it’s been moving. Chelsea always brought out the best in me, and Nolan finished that job when he shoved me into that bathroom with absolutely no fucking fear of the repercussions. He calls me on my bullshit and doesn’t let me push people away.
What starts as a sweet kiss quickly turns hotter until he’s grinding against me. I push my hips up so my hard cock presses against his ass, and the sexiest moan leaves his mouth. I pull back and start kissing his neck. “Do you remember when I told you that I wanted you to ride me like this, Naughty boy?”
“Yes,” he hisses when I sink my teeth into the skin where his shoulder and neck meet.
“Do you know why?” He shakes his head. “So I can see your gorgeous face and cock at the same time. I want to see it leaking everywhere, begging me to touch it.” I kiss across his throat. “Or I can turn you around backward, and Sean can suck your dick while I fuck your tight ass.”
Nolan jerks back to look at my face. “What?”
“I saw the way you responded to that kiss, Nolan. You don’t have to worry about me getting mad if it goes further than that. We’re all in this together. There isn’t room for jealousy now. I want you happy.”
He wraps his arms back around my neck. “I am happy, Axel. With you, Chelsea, and this relationship.” He swallows. “But I feel bad because I’ve been thinking about that kiss a lot.”
“And that’s fine. You don’t have to feel bad for something that’s inevitably going to happen. I need you to know something, though. I’m in this for the long haul. This relationship is what I want for the rest of my life. Is this what you want? You’re still so young—”
Nolan silences me with a quick kiss. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
My heart swells, and three words are sitting on the tip of my tongue, but I can’t bring myself to say them. Something about the look on Nolan’s face says he’s feeling the same thing. I pull him until he’s lying against me and lean back in the chair, waiting on the call from Les.

Les called after abouttwo hours and filled us in on what was going to happen. Everything is a go for Gavin’s death, and now we’re just waiting for the signal to move to the safe house. I check the time on my phone again for the hundredth time, and Chelsea grabs my hand, lacing our fingers together.
