“Nolan won’t look me in the eye. What’s wrong?”
Axel sighs and leans back in his chair. “Nothing’s wrong, Cupcake. We…uh…did something while you were sleeping.”
She frowns and looks worried. I grab her hand and kiss her knuckles. “It’s nothing bad.”
“Then why won’t you just tell me?”
“We all fucked, Gorgeous.”
Chelsea’s eyes widen, and then she starts laughing. “That’s it? I thought someone died or something.”
“You aren’t mad, Lovie?” he asks quietly.
“Of course not,” Chelsea answers with a smile. “I already said that whatever happens between us is fine. I don’t always have to be involved, and I slept sooooooo good.”
Nolan blows out a breath. “I thought we did something wrong.”
“It never would have happened if she wasn’t okay with it, Naughty boy,” Axel assures him. “Chels knows we’d never do anything to hurt her.”
Cole nods. “For sure. Plus, she can’t hog all the cock for herself.”
Chelsea punches him in the arm with a laugh. “Shut up. I could if I wanted to.”
“True,” Sean and I say at the same time, and fist bump.
Chelsea shakes her head. “Anyway, I got some good news when I woke up. Ari and his team moved Gavin into my house. They said everything was in one piece, and they’re staying vigilant.”
“I hope so because Charlie is going to lose his shit when he attacks the wrong house and can’t find us,” Axel says. “I’m still waiting to see if he goes after it. Holden has an eye on it.” Axel sits up, and I already don’t like the look on his face. “We have to draw Charlie out and end this shit once and for all.”
“What’s the plan?” I ask.
“We start attacking his places that we already know about. Nolan almost has a lead on a primary residence, and as soon as he does, we hit it. We go out in separate teams, so Chelsea is never left alone. If not, Charlie will hide forever.”
“What about Brady?” she asks.
“I think if we piss Charlie off enough, he’ll make Brady show his face too—two birds with one stone. Brady might be crazier than Charlie, but he’s not smarter. He won’t keep his head down long.” Axel sighs and runs his fingers through his hair. “We might need to do more to draw him out.”
“I don’t like that look, Axel. Just spit it out,” Cole says.
“We need to try to set Amber up again. I still think she’s the leak. I want Chelsea to confide everything in her and then ask her to meet us. We bring her to where Chelsea will be, and I have a feeling Charlie or Brady will follow.”
“You want to use her as fucking bait!” Sean explodes, standing from his chair. “Have you lost your fucking mind?”
Axel narrows his eyes. “She won’t really be there. What kind of asshole do you think I am? Yes, I want Charlie dead, but it will never be enough to put Chelsea’s life in danger. Now, sit down.”
Sean flops back in his chair with a sheepish look. “Sorry.”
“You need to learn to let me finish a sentence,” Axel says dryly. “We need a Chelsea look alike to make it believable. I put a bug in Les’ ear, and she says she might have an idea.”
“Where are you going to find someone that looks like me?”
“All we need is a blonde with your body type. That’s all he’s going to need.”
“You really think this will work?” I ask.
“We really don’t have much of a choice. I say we start with ruining his business, and if that doesn’t work, we pull out plan b with the Chelsea look-alike.”
“I don’t like you guys going out alone,” Chelsea says softly. “But I get it. I’d rather you go out as a team, though.”
