Shit, what was I saying? I wanted revenge. Not…. not this.
“Oh, you’re quite the comedian this morning.” Damon mocks. “Where the fuck have you been?” I scowl at him. “Oh, please don’t tell me—oh, of course, you’re chasing a piece of ass while the shit collapses around us.”
“I’m not chasing anything.”
“No?” He cocks a brow. “So, you weren’t with the mysterious girl in the woods?”
“Define with.”
“Fuck, Chase, why don’t you just fucking announce your presence?” A crease forms across my brow. He was right, why didn’t I? Why was I playing hunt my prey? “You know what? I don’t care. We have a problem.” He states in a dramatic tone.
My eyes rose, and I looked at the intensity swirling in the deep brown hues as he gazed back at me. He looks worried, but Damon never looks worried. He stands, not saying another word. His dark hair falls across his eyes, but that doesn’t stop the frown of worry I can see laced within his eyes.
“You have my attention.” I gasp, getting annoyed by the silence that ensues.
“You fucked up,” I smirk. “Chase, you fucked up bad.”
“Okay, I’ll bite. What is it you think I did this time?”
“Nikoli has the entire city looking for you. There is a bounty on your head. What did you do?”
“You don’t know?” I smirk.
“Why are you smiling, you crazy bastard? Did my words not reach your ears?”
“I heard you,” I mutter as I stand.
“What did you do?” He grits once more.
“Took out the trash.” I smile.
I watch as he brushes his fingers through his hair, the way he does when he’s trying to control that rage that I know is running through his body. “Gage is pissed.”
“Yeah?” I walk towards him, “so what else is new?”
“Chase,” he calls after me, but I carry on walking. “Chase,” he repeats once more.
“Don’t worry about it.”
“I will always remember to have that engraved on your tombstone.”
Nikoli? Why was everyone afraid of Nikoli? I could end his shit in my sleep. A bounty on my head? That was an inconvenience. Watching Ava would be dangerous now, but I couldn’t stop. What if she moved? I would never find her again. This was my only chance to get back at the little beast.
I would deal with Nikoli and his merry band of miscreants later, but right now there was only one thing on my mind:
Capturing Ava.

SECRETADMIRER?
AVA
My eyes open and I sigh. Another day of doing what I considered was the dream. I put in a lot of effort for this. It was risky. He could find me at any moment. I knew that if he discovered me, he would once more confine me and condemn me to a lifetime of suffering under his dominance.
I couldn’t go back.
I just wanted to forget, forget that he ever existed. Forget the torture he had committed me to, but I couldn’t. Nightmares of our time together continued to haunt me. I was fortunate enough to get away from him. I wasn’t sure I would be so lucky next time.
