Zack gave me a smile and guided me to the small screen to the side of the building. “Why don’t we ask?”

I clutched his arm. “Wait. I’m not ready.”

He sighed and wrapped his fingers around my hand. “What are you so nervous about?”

He drew my hand to the necklace at my chest and I let his weight linger on my breasts. Even from the minute dust I had drained from his skin, the necklace remained cold and lifeless. I wished to feel it burn again, blazing with life as it had on my mother.

I realized suddenly that I wasn’t doing this for David, or Sarah. As selfish as it was, this was my chance to accept that I was a succubus. To embrace what I was, wholly and completely, and finally let go of the guilt that tormented me.

My gaze fell to my feet and I stared at the ground lamps’ glow cascading across my red heels, choosing to ignore the dull bloodstains smeared across my jeans. Even if I never had to kill anyone again… could I really accept what I was? Could Sarah?

Beeps sounded as Zack plucked away on the keypad and I cried out in horror. The screen blipped on and the most beautiful creature to grace the planet smiled directly at me.

Even through the filter of pixels and the dilution of a speaker, I was instantly trapped in an iron web of magnetic desire and fascination. I could feel his heat through the screen. It didn’t matter if he was a hundred feet away, at that moment I would have done anything he asked.

“Hello, you must be Sonya,” he breathed and I staggered to Zack’s side, grabbing onto him for stability.

So this is what my victims felt when I controlled them with their own desire.

“Would you please come in?” Derek asked and his liquid sex voice was followed by a mechanical click at the door.

I stared at the bronze handle, frozen in place.

“This place’s got remote control locks. How sweet it that?” Zack declared and gave me a hearty slap on the back and I stumbled into the screen, realizing I was pressing my breasts against the camera a bit too late.

“Oh my, aren’t you friendly?” Derek’s voice caressed me from the speaker.

“E-excuse me!” I launched back from the screen and gave Zack the best death glare I could manage.

“Make yourself at home,” Derek continued. “I’ll be down in a moment.”

The screen went black and I stared at it until Zack tapped my shoulder. “You heard the man, let’s go.”

Zack tugged the door open and waltzed inside as if he visited the ancient, all-powerful, allsexyIncubus King every day of his life.

Then again, since he was just another incubus, he was unaffected by Derek’s magnetism, wasn’t he?

I swallowed the dry lump in my throat, wishing I’d stolen that whiskey bottle from the limo and could down it before going inside. Instead, I shook myself, fluffed my hair, and followed Zack through the doorway.

The cool air kissed my cheeks and I sighed, not realizing how warm it’d been outside. Plus, Derek getting me all riled up and the remnants of alcohol with the buzz dried out made everything uncomfortable…and sticky.

I pulled down on the leg of my jeans as Zack disappeared around a corner.

“Hey, where you goin’?” I shouted out after him.

His voice echoed down the wide hall in reply. “He said to make ourselves at home. I’m hitting the bar!”

I snickered, and pranced across the plush maroon carpet in anticipation and my eyes scanned the massive paintings decorating the foyer. “Do you think he has more of that whiskey?”

A promising clink of glasses told me it was a good possibility. I smiled and was about to speed around the corner until the most breathtaking painting caught my eye. I enjoyed art just as much as the next girl, but something about this piece was absolutely enchanting.

A naked woman lay across a couch, and the setting seemed antiquated with long beige drapes framing a Victorian style one-armed chair. The woman, though, was draped over it as if she was absolutely timeless. The paint strokes were so intricate I could even see the wave of goosebumps across her flawless skin. She leaned on one hand staring out into the mansion—staring straight at me.

“I see you’ve found Silvia,” a voice breathed behind my ear and I squeaked in surprise.

Derek smiled back at me as Zack sprang into the room. His jolly gait slowed to a halt and he rubbed his neck. “Hey, man. It looks like you’re out of the—”

Derek flashed Zack a wicked smile and pulled out a thick glass bottle he’d been hiding behind his back. It was even bigger than the one I’d had in the limo.
