The naked Water Fae recovered from my strike that had landed him on his ass on the floor. His rigid cock was still wet, but I’d burn that off with the rest of him.
As I stormed him, intent on pummeling him into pieces, a female voice made me pause.
“Don’t!”
My fist hung in midair as I tried to make sense of the voice I’d just heard.
A voice that definitely didnotbelong to my Omega.
Turning back to the bed, the strands of the Web shimmered and vibrated.
Gina’s body melted away, leaving behind a different female in its place.
She stared at me with wide, blue eyes. Eyes similar to Gina’s, but the rest of her was different. Long blonde hair tumbled in disheveled waves over her shoulders. Pointed ears peeked through the frizzy curls, assuring me that this wasn’t my Omega.
The Web had played some sort of trick on me.
The flames I had conjured died down and reduced to steam, encasing the room in cool heat.
The dewy droplets floating around her told me all I needed to know.
This was a Water Fae and I’d just walked in on a random couple for no good reason.
The Water Fae female held the bedsheet over her chest like a shield. “He’s… not hurting me,” she offered by means of explanation. She tilted her head when I lowered my hand. Then she chuckled. “Oh, shit, you thought I was someone else, didn’t you?” She glanced at the Water Fae on the floor. “Did you sleep with a Fire Fae’s girl? I know you get around, Calder, butseriously. What kind of idiot are you? Fire Fae are hot-tempered and jealous.”
Calder. Why is that name familiar?
The male on the floor groaned and rubbed his jaw. “Fire Fae? I haven’t slept with any Fire Fae.” He held up his finger. “There was that one Earth Fae, but I never slept with her. Good thing, too, because I heard she’s owned by the Midnight Fae now.” He held up another finger. “There was that Fortune Fae chick—”
Launching myself over him, I yanked the Water Fae up by his spiky hair. “Fortune Fae?” I snapped. “What was her name?”
“Fuck, man,” he groaned as I twisted him in a painful angle, not letting go of the roots I’d sunk my fingers into.
“Give. Me. A. Name,” I demanded, yanking him harder.
He sighed, brows furrowing in concentration. “Something with a ‘G’ sound? Giselle? Jasmine? Fuck, I don’t know. It was a fling. She said she just wanted to have some fun.”
“And were you? Havingfun?” I growled, ready to throttle the male.
He blinked at me a few times, confused. “Dude. The Fortune Fae chick and I haven’t been together in ages.”
He twisted in my grip, but I wasn’t letting go. Except I had forgotten he was aWaterFae. His hair suddenly became slick with moisture, making my fingers slip as he jerked free.
He huffed and snatched up a pair of pants and stepped into them. “Are you Seif? That’s a name I’ll never forget. First time a girl’s said another fae’s name when she’s having a good time with me; that’s for sure.”
My temper flared.
So this faewastalking about Gina.
I might not have walked in on him and my Omega, but he had slept with her sometime in the past. That was what the Web was trying to show me.
“Seif is Gina’s Alpha and he’ll skin you alive with his fangs,” I supplied, seeing red.
The bastard couldn’t even remember Gina’s name. For once, I was glad to have Seif in Gina’s mate-circle. He would have no problem ripping off Calder’s balls once he heard of this.
Calder glowered. “Look. If we’re talking about the same Fortune Fae, then like I said, that was ages ago. I get that the passage of time doesn’t mean much to Fortune Fae, but seriously, bro.” He snapped his hand at the female on the bed. “I was trying to show this lovely fae agoodtime and you’re ruining it.”
The indicated female seemed quite amused now. She tucked her chin in her hands while her knees pressed up against her chest to hold the sheet in place. “Who said I’m not having a good time?” She tapped her lips. “Wait, I know the name Seif. The rumor mill has it that the Fortune Fae who predicted Claire’s rise to power turned out to be an Omega and…” She gasped and swiveled her wide gaze to Calder. “You slept with the famous Fortune FaeGinaand you can’t even remember her name?”
