It made me dizzy to hear their voices. I pushed them out as best I could because the last thing I wanted was for them to Tunnel here.

I wasn’t sure if they even could, but the fact that they were talking to me suggested they might have a chance. Although, the attempt alone would drain their Dust to the point of rendering them useless.

And it would endanger us all.

Let me handle it,I demanded as I closed off the final walls, leaving a ringing to settle in my ears.

I was surprised they could even reach me here. The Collegium’s protections should have been powerful enough to keep out even their minds—but my mate-circle seemed to continue to defy the rules.

Or… we were just growing stronger.

That strength appeared to be a whimsical thought when Roderik straightened and stared us down. Blood and Dust dripped down his chin and splashed across his neck. I couldn’t see Axel’s condition behind Roderik’s bulky Alpha form, but the pain thrumming through my soul told me it was bad.

As the initial shock passed, fury set in. I pushed Mina behind me and showed my teeth. “You’re a brute,” I said, keeping my words low and deadly.

My magic snapped to attention as if it sensed my growing anger. The strands of the Web glimmered into reality, sending glints of silver and sparks of power to burst through the room.

He’d messed with the wrong mate-circle.

That’smyAlpha,I snarled in my head.

No one got to touch him except one of my inner circle.

Roderik ran his thumb over his lower lip, catching the blood mixed with silver, and slowly licked it clean. His gaze swept over me, bright with interest, then flicked to the Omega behind me.

Mina hadn’t protested against my protection. Whether or not she felt I was capable of stopping an Alpha like Roderik from doing whatever he wanted, I was all she had right now.

“All Alphas are brutes,” Roderik informed me as he stalked closer. The tower seemed to thrum in response to his steps, echoing with the power he’d imbibed that didn’t belong to him.

It swept through his body, sending his veins alight with silver as it traveled to the place where he wanted it.

His already large cock grew three times in size, becoming a monstrous thing that he had to hold aloft as he walked. He lazily stroked it, grinning when Dust seeped from the weeping slit.

My stomach rolled.

I didn’t move when he towered over me. His powerful musk was wrong to my senses. Axel’s heat and spice lingered underneath the surface, barely recognizable beneath layers of Roderik’s overpowering rot.

His corruption made my nostrils flare and my eyes water. I pitied any Omega subjected to his horror.

No Omega will ever suffer you again,I promised. I wasn’t sure how I would accomplish that, but I’d made up my mind.

Roderik would feel the full force of my wrath.

The Web trembled against my vow, bowing against me and bouncing back with retaliation.

The timeline I wanted didn’t exist. Killing him wasn’t an option. It wasn’t his time yet. His strand appeared in the air with thick threads, pulsating like his cock that he held in his hand.

He leaned toward me, pushing against the netting I’d already protectively wound around myself with the silver strands.

“You’re a little spider queen, aren’t you?” he asked, his voice thick with lust as he forced his way closer and breathed in my scent. His unwanted touch went to my chin, lifting my face up to look at him. “Including darling little fangs. Whatareyou, sweetheart?”

I let his gaze linger and soak me in. His fascination was the right distraction I needed.

As was his proximity.

The Web wouldn’t let me kill him. Silver flashed over my vision as I sped through the timelines, searching for any possibility that would change the course of events.

Mina’s screams.
