“What are you doing looking at Trevor’s penis?” he asked not missing a beat. He pointed a finger in accusation at the demigod. “Lily’s off-limits!”
Trevor raised his hands in surrender, which only revealed all of his shiny manly-bits to the room. “Hey, I’m exclusive to Olivia now. I swear, she walked in on us.”
Olivia finished yanking a waterproof shirt over herself and held up a towel in front of Trevor’s waist. “Quit flashing everyone,” she chided him.
He chuckled and wrapped the towel over his hips. “Gods. You’re all such prudes.”
Dante rolled his eyes. “Well, now that we know nobody’s dying in here, can we leave?” He shook one foot. “It’s… wet.”
“Yeah it is,” Trevor teased as he pinched Olivia’s butt.
“Trevor!” she screeched, her face turning bright red. “Gods, Lily I’m so sorry. I’m completely humiliated.”
“Please,” Trevor said as he swept a hand around her waist and pulled her close. “She’s been getting freaky with Orion so much I think I’m starting to see some glowing freckles on her nose.” He leaned in and squinted. “Yeah, I think I see one right there.”
Olivia laughed, so I let Trevor’s comments slide. “I uh, I’ll give you guys some privacy. Sorry for busting in. I just thought—”
“That I was hurting her?” Trevor asked with delight. He kissed Olivia’s head. “Was I hurting you, baby? If I was, I was hurting you good, right?”
She squirmed uncomfortably, clearly not interested in answering the question. “Yeah, if it’s okay Lily, I’ll see you later. I need to uh, wash up.”
The puddles around her feet slipped over her ankles as Trevor grinned. “I’ll help with that.”
Okaaaaay. That was my cue.
“Bye!” I shouted as I tugged Orion out of the room. I’d seen enough fishy-foreplay for one day.
“I always regret coming to the Demi-dorms,” Dante lamented as we returned down the stairs to the foyer.
“What brings you two by?” Orion asked, unperturbed by the recent display. He settled a massive hand on my neck in that claiming motion he preferred. He smiled as his freckles gleamed with sunlight, shining through him with its full glory. I loved to see Orion like this and sex with him never got old—but that’s not why we were here, unfortunately. “I enjoy having you to myself, but I’m not opposed to sharing with the Hunter, as long as you feel it’s safe.”
“You can put your dick away,” Dante said, his tone flat as he crossed his arms. “This isn’t a social call. Lily has a way to break Kaito out of the Monster Arena.”
“And Cole,” I added firmly.
“Cole?” Orion asked, his eyes glowing with golden specks that matched his freckles. “The demon who is driving everyone mad?”
“Yup,” I answered, taking his wrist and dragging him out of the building. The dark fog felt cool around my ankles compared to Orion’s heat, proof that he was a good ally to have when I faced the demon of rage.
“And you want to free him… why?” Orion asked as he allowed me to drag him.
Dante huffed. “Because she’s delusional, but she’s also right. He’s the only one strong enough around here to weaken the Dean long enough so that we can use this.” He took out his dagger so that he could get to the Angelstone. It gleamed against Orion’s light and jingled as if happy to have been let free from the dark scabbard.
A few students approached from a distance, but they kept their heads low. Dante returned the stone to its hiding place regardless.
“Are we bringing anyone else?” Orion asked. “The wolf is good for biting. It could annoy him, at least.”
“Funny,” I said, rolling my eyes. “But no. I need Virtues who won’t be affected by Cole’s powers. You don’t have any deep-seated grudges that could be used against me, right?” We’d more than ironed out our problems. Orion had once been one of my most difficult Virtues, but he never hid anything from me. We worked out our problems on the spot and that’s what I liked about him.
Logan, though, was good at brooding and bottling things up. I was sure he had plenty of things we still hadn’t yet worked out, especially now that he was back with his pack. I’d have to deal with him later.
Orion gave Dante’s dagger a wary glance. “I would have expected the Hunter to be in that category, given your… history.”
I stopped in my tracks. “What do you mean?” Did he actually know that I’d tried to kill Dante when we’d first met? How many people knew that dark secret?
“He knows,” Dante said, unimpressed as he kept walking.
I stumbled to catch up with him. “So you told him before you told me? What the fuck, Dante?”
