I knew it was naïve to think that I could have a Broodmare and keep my powers as a Unicorn Shifter, but I was already fantasizing. As long as I didn’t leave this room, it wasn’t going to hurt anything.
Burying my face into the pillow, I groaned as a new rush of lust hit me.
I wasn’t used to the sensation, and I suspected that this powerful wave of need wasn’t coming from me.
But from Bonny.
She was in the other room, and Raze wasn’t awake.
He was stable; I sensed that much.
But she was in pain.
I wasn’t an empath, so I wasn’t sure how I could be so certain about that. Empathic abilities were known to the Ruby House, not something a Unicorn of the Emerald House should be able to experience.
But the fact that I could sense her state and Raze’s suggested there was already a connection between the three of us.
Sitting up, I frowned when I sensed something new.
The ground trembled and then an icy sensation ran up my spine.
The pain hit me a moment later.
Hissing in a cold breath, I struggled off the bed and pressed my palms against the tile.
I wanted to touch the soil of my realm. My Emerald Purity magic was strongest through nature and could be a healing force.
Although I’d never tested it against Corruption inside my own body before.
The cold feeling that progressed through my veins told me the worst had come to pass.
I’d been infected by Corruption.
And unlike Raze, I didn’t have any experience on how to fight it.

Eli’s Legion was off chasing Khimaira, and clearly, they had failed because this was an all-out resurgence of Corruption within our realm.
Something that should have been eradicated a long time ago.
