“Kane,” Althea pressed, resulting in a low growl rumbling in my throat.
“Yes, fine,” I snapped.
She was right to pressure me. If a Hunter had given himself up, then we had the upper hand. I needed to address this quickly and formulate a plan to deal with the threat.
Because as much as I hated to admit it, the other packs were a shadow against the greater danger a legion of Hunters placed on our plans.
While I had driven off the initial wave of Hunters with their help, it had been because of the initial boost of magic that Kaitsja offered me.
Her blessing was powerful, but it wasn’t infinite.
The slow contentment tugged me to join Her in sleep, but I steeled myself against it.
I couldn’t rest. Not until this was taken care of.
The other packs were protecting their alphas, which was why I required them alive. They were my leverage, but if Kaitsja planned to mate them, that would make them so much more.
It put Her in a vulnerable position. One I wasn’t quite sure what to do with yet.
“See that they’re cleaned and their clothes removed,” I snapped at Althea. “Then bring them to the audience chamber.”
The alphas had hopelessly ruined the pants that I’d ordered for them. Perhaps it had been selfish of me, but I didn’t like the idea of my mate enjoying the view.
Because even if she hated them, they still had the bodies of alphas forged by the moon.
Their cocks were also admirable in length and girth, as were their knots, from what I could see. Most of them had tugged their pants low on their hips to free the monstrosities between their legs.
Without a mate to bury themselves in, they would maintain an erection and leak their seed as long as they remained aroused.
Which gave me another use for them, one I intended to fully use to my advantage.
While I plotted new ways to humiliate the alphas, my mind snapped against the new bond with my mate.
I flinched when a sudden image of all of them taking Her shoved into my mind.
One from the front.
One from the back.
Another in Her mouth.
One in each of Her graceful hands.
While I watched.
Stunned, I glanced down at my mate who whimpered and curled against my chest. Her brow furrowed, suggesting that the image had come from Her sleeping mind.
While I could read Her thoughts, witnessing images of Her dreams was unexpected. I’d never heard of a mate bond sharing that deeply before.
Then again, no one had mated the Goddess before, either.
“Kane?” Althea pressed again, ripping me from the image.
“If you value your neck, don’t say another word and do as I ask,” I growled at the insolent female. The urge to slice her throat open was almost too powerful to ignore, but the slight weight in my arms helped me to resist.
Her hurt expression didn’t last long before Althea secured her mask back in place. She gave me one of her slow nods and wisely dropped her gaze to the floor.
Shoving around her, I made my way through the cave on the path toward the mansion.
