Knowing full well that I held my mate to my chest dripping with my cum. Each drop resulted in the sprouting of a new Moon Blossom, displaying the power our union held.

This would serve a dual opportunity.

I would let everyone know who Kaitsja belonged to.

And I would show the Hunter who he was fucking with because my mate wasn’t just beautiful.

She was a fucking Goddess.

This place smells like wet dog and overpowering incense,I thought with a frown.

Although, based on the number of wolves piling into the communal living area I’d found myself in, I had greater things to worry about other than offensive scents.

It had been my idea to give myself up to the wolves in order to start negotiations. I’d convinced Xenos and Ronin that I could handle myself. I’d been a demon’s prisoner, for fuck’s sake. I could handle a few wolves.

Or so I had led myself to believe. Perhaps I was wrong.

I twisted against the spiked chains that dug into my wrists. It concerned me that I couldn’t move, and instead the sharp ends kept my arms secure behind my back. Each move served to dig the painful jabs deeper into my skin.

With my Hunter strength, no physical chains could bind me, but I had underestimated the power of the Moon Pack.

Ronin was going to get a kick out of telling me “I told you so.”

Assuming I made it out of this alive.

Magic burned through my system and sank into my bloodstream from the restraints. These weren’t simply physical chains—they were ones imbued by the power of their Goddess.

I was looking forward to meeting her, though, and based on the amount of magic twisting through the air, I was going to get that opportunity very soon. I doubted even the wolves could see the silvery rays of magical light that drifted through the room, but I could practically taste it.

They seemed oblivious of the ocean of magic that we swam through. Instead, all eyes were on me while I kneeled at their mercy.

Too many curious wolves surrounded me, all staring and prodding at me like I was a foreign object. While they all looked primitive, the surroundings didn’t match their appearance.

Most of the shifters barely wore clothing, and some were entirely naked. I was used to that sort of behavior among shifters, but the opulence of the mansion they lived in didn’t match my expectations.

A roaring fire kept the room warm and also served to add a smoky flavor to the scents that I didn’t prefer. I tried to keep my breaths short to not take in too much of it—mostly because of Ronin’s warning.

One that I decided I should now heed.

Strange, magical blossoms dangled from the ceiling and ran with vines up the walls. The touch of nature over gold and silver embellishments, as well as silken drapes, confirmed all I needed to know about the Moon Pack.

They had wealth in both physical and spiritual things. They had lost a war against the other packs in the past—so Ronin had said—and they’d gone in hiding ever since.

Biding their time gave them a unique opportunity to build their numbers, their magic, and their wealth. Most of their wealth Ronin said would have been salvaged from their prior reign when humans had been equal partners with the wolves in this realm.

But the growth in their spiritual prowess suggested they’d been hard at work cultivating something none of the other packs had.

My suspicions were answered when the wolves parted like a sea, bowing to something at the far end of the room.

Shielding my eyes against the bright, silvery glow that contrasted against the dimly lit room, I allowed my eyes to adjust.

Then my chest froze with shock.

The alpha that had beaten back my Hunters stood proud, tall—and very naked with a stunning female in his arms.

She leaned against his chest and seemed content in sleep. The pink flush to her magically-brightened cheeks matched the evidence of her mussed hair.

While I held no sexual attraction for any female other than my mate, I couldn’t doubt her beauty or the prize she must be to any shifter.
