Chapter 14
Quade stoodat the door to the bedroom as Caden stopped short of the bed. His hands clenched, and he seemed uncertain. Sauntering over to him, Quade leaned in close. “Remember, you can say no.”
“The hell I can. I’ve been wanting this—you—for a while now. It’s just… I forgot how to work the buttons on my shirt.”
“That’s okay. I got you covered. Or uncovered.” Giving him an evil grin, Quade allowed his hand to take on claws. He slipped it under Caden’s shirt and slowly slid upward, popping off the buttons. Caden was practically panting by the time he was done. He pushed the shirt off Caden’s shoulders and dropped it to the floor. There was a sprinkle of freckles dotting Caden’s back. Quade leaned in and licked a trail along them.
Caden sucked in a breath. “Shit.”
“What?”
“No one’s ever… I mean…. Shit.”
“Oh, Caden, there are so many things I want to do with you.”
“But… you said we couldn’t. You said—”
“I was wrong. Ten told me I had to embrace my wolf, then showed me my people weren’t always cruel and violent. He said….” Did he really want to tell Caden this? Yes, he wouldn’t lie to him. “He said you and I were together through several lifetimes. That we’ve been lovers for thousands of years or more.”
Caden shuddered. “Do you think it’s true?”
“I do.” Quade nipped at Caden’s neck. “My people believe in spirit walking, where the souls of the dead wait to be reborn, but that those connections we had in life will always remain through the next. It’s why I couldn’t kill you when I saw you. There was a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I needed to keep you alive.”
Eyes shimmering in the soft lighting, Caden leaned against Quade. His body was warm, soft, perfect. Quade licked, nipped, and sucked on different areas of Caden’s body, loving the moans, gasps, and whimpers that followed. He could spend a lifetime with Caden and never grow tired of exploring every inch of him, then go back and start all over.
“Lie down on your back.”
Without hesitation, Caden stretched out on the bed.
Quade looked at that beautiful body with the soft curve of love handles. “You’re so gorgeous,” he whispered, nearly choking on the emotions that were welling up inside of him.
When Caden opened his arms, Quade crawled onto the bed, sliding into the warm embrace. He put a hand on the side of Caden’s face, then leaned in for a kiss. The taste set off fireworks in his head, and for a split second, Quade was sure he would die from the overwhelming pleasure.
He pulled back and found himself lost in the sprite rings of Caden’s eyes. Now it made sense why he had them.
“I remember when we were at the restaurant and your friends were talking about those men you’d been with. I wanted to hunt them down and show them what it felt like to be as hurt as you were, but then I realized if I did, I’d have to be away from you and that’s something I never want to do again.”
Ten’s predictions be damned, Quade would do whatever he had to in order to keep Caden.
Grabbing Caden’s hands, he held them up over his head. “Keep them there. I don’t want you to move. Can you do that for me?”
He loved the way Caden trembled when he was told to do something.
“Y-yes, I can keep them here.”
He patted Caden’s cheek. “Good boy.”
Sucking up a hickey on Caden’s shoulder had him moaning and quivering. As he nibbled his way up to the soft skin of Caden’s neck, Quade glided his hand over the firm chest, stopping at each nipple to give it a tweak and get it raised to a nice, hard bud. Then he moved down, laving each nub with his tongue before nipping at it with his teeth, causing Caden to hiss and arch his back.
When he had Caden thrashing on the bed, Quade went for his prize. He gripped Caden’s shaft in his hand, bent over, and licked the slit, tasting the delicious bead of precum there.
“You taste incredible,” he whispered, then opened his mouth and took Caden as deep as he could.
“Holy fucking God!”
Caden thrust his hips up, driving himself farther into Quade’s mouth. Not being overly adept at sucking, Quade choked.
“Oh, shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
