I couldn’t stop smiling. Once I recognized the scent, I was hooked on it. And Uly. “He says he’ll stay.”
“Excellent, cub. I’m glad for you.”
But then realization hit me. “How the hell do I do a relationship with a man? I mean, when I was dating Jenna, she did most of the pursuing. I was… well, more than a little clueless about things.”
“It’s good to see some things never change,” Benjy teased.
I gave him the finger, and he busted out laughing.
“If that’s the biggest thing you have to offer, he might just head for the hills.”
“Enough, Benjy,” Chaim snarled.
“I’m sorry, Chaim.” And he actually sounded contrite. He turned to me and dipped his chin. “I apologize, Brent.”
“And you should,” Chaim said, his voice harsh. “Don’t bring up his, um… shortcomings.”
Then both of the bastards shared a meaningful glance before they were laughing. A few moments later, I did too. It had been far too long since I had my friends nearby, and I was happy once more.
“Seriously, how do I let him know I’m interested?”
“You said he had a brother, right?”
“Yeah, Jamie.”
“Reach out to him. Ask what his brother likes. Let him know you’re thinking of pursuing a relationship and ask for his blessing.”
“Ask for his… you’re kidding, right? What is this, the 1800s?”
He shrugged one massive shoulder. “You want his family on your side, don’t you? Nothing is worse than having them talk bad about you. Uly might be influenced by their feelings too.”
Which would absolutely suck if they didn’t like me. I could see it being very bad. Now that I’d caught his scent, had it fill my lungs, had it worm its way into my brain?
I wanted Uly in the worst way imaginable.
I wanted to feel his warmth surround me as I took him. Wanted to hear his breath as we rutted hard and fast, or hear him purr as we were slow and gentle. I wanted to wake in the morning and find him all warm and sleep rumpled, his hair askew, his soft, pink lips parted as he breathed. I wanted to wake him with a kiss, then move my way down and take him into my mouth, bringing him to full alertness. I wanted to swallow him to the root, taste his seed as it filled my mouth, then worked its way to my stomach.
I wanted to rim him. That musk I smelled inflaming my senses.
But I needed Uly to want me too. I couldn’t just pounce on him. No, I needed him to be a partner, not a conquest. He had to see that I could be part of his life and that he belonged here with me and the boys. And they were a main consideration. What would they do if I drove the man they thought of as Momma away?
“You’re thinking awfully hard, cub.”
“I can’t fuck this up.”
“No, you most certainly can’t. You’re on a good path, though. You’ve invited him to stay here, so you’ll have time to wine and dine before you sixty-nine.”
I blinked, then turned my attention to Benjy. “Has he always been this nasty?”
Benjy grinned. “Oh, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The man has a mouth on him.” He waggled his brows. “And he knows how to use it.”
I scowled at Benjy. “You’re as bad as he is, aren’t you?”
“Where do you think I learned it?” Chaim asked with a chuckle. “When I met Benjy, he turned my whole life upside down and inside out. I’d always thought of myself as straight, dated the hottest cheerleaders, but the moment I scented him? Girls were a thing of the past, man.”
“How did you guys meet?” I asked. “You never told me.”
“We were football players,” Benjy said. “Different schools, different districts. Chaim was the top player—literally—and I was for mine. But the moment we took the field and Chaim got close enough to smell me? It was game over. It didn’t matter how well protected I was, Chaim knocked them all down to get to me. My team was pissed that a single man was able to do that, but I found it—and him—sexy as hell. Especially because he knocked me over and mounted me. More than once his teammates had to pull him off, because he was pushing his hard dick into my hip. And fuck it if I didn’t want to flip over and let him have me right there on the field. I might have been as big as he was, but I would gladly bend over for him. And have for twenty years.”
