“Are you okay, Darlin’?” He asks me gently, and I feel the others all move closer.

“Erm,” I start and then stop because I still have no idea what to say.

Despite the fact that I’m enjoying the guys surrounding me, I move away from them and start to pace, while my mind tries to digest what it’s just been told.

I have to say I’m glad that my uncle's office is big, or I wouldn’t be able to pace like this.

I guess he’s not my uncle? But my dad?

Shit.

“Okay, so my uncle is actually my dad,” I start repeating my thoughts out loud because it seems necessary. I continue, “My fake dad tortured me for my entire existence, and then I eventually killed him, but before that, he sent me to kill Monty, who I saved and took to the Shadowlands to hide, and who is actually my father too, and I have more fathers. An undisclosed amount, because of course I do. They are all biologically my fathers as well, which is pretty insane.”

“It is, and isn’t normal among the gods either,” Hades says quietly.

I throw my hands in the air, although I carry on pacing, “Exactly.” I don’t know what exactly, but it feels like the right thing to say. It doesn’t matter because I plough on anyway, because I think talking out loud is helping. Regardless, I’m doing it. I continue, “And my mother is Verena, the goddess that we spoke to in the God Realm. The one who has come to me in dreams recently, and the one who has been helping me my whole life. Oh, and she’s a Fate?”

“That sums it up pretty well,” Zev replies when I stay silent, but of course, still pacing.

“What do I even do with that information?” I ask, as I suddenly stop and look at all of the guys, only to find that they’re all watching me closely with the same concerned expression.

“I don’t know,” Storm replies, as he slowly moves forward. When he gets to me, I collapse into his arms, and he holds me tightly.

I feel a gentle touch on my back and instantly know that the huge hand belongs to Khaos, “You do with it whatever you want to. If you want to ignore it for a while, you do that. If you want to go and eat lots of sweet things, like I’ve heard women often like to do, then we can go and do that. We can do whatever you need us to.”

“Khaos is right,” Reaper agrees. “It’s a massive thing that you’ve just been told. So you handle it however you need to.”

I lift my head from Storm’s chest and turn it so I can see the guys all gathered close.

“You guys are awesome, have I told you that?”

“Not today,” Loki grins.

“We know, though,” Zev smirks.

“It will be okay, Farren,” Rival says, his eyes meeting mine. “No matter what happens, you’ve got us.”

“Promise?” I can’t help but ask, showing my vulnerability in a way that I would only do with them.

All of them instantly start nodding as Mayhem answers for them all, “We promise.”

I nod.

“Right, I’m not going to ignore it, no matter how much I want to, because it’s not going anywhere and we’ve got other shit to deal with. We don’t need to suddenly be blindsided by this when I can’t ignore it anymore if I do decide to ignore it now.” I frown. I’m not entirely sure that made sense. The guys all nod though, so I continue, “There’s not really anything for me to do in order to deal with it. Apart from maybe making a list of questions that I want to ask Monty and Magnus when they suddenly appear again.”

“I think they might be gone for a while,” Hades says. “I know Verena, she’s going to be mad as hell.” Before I can ask, he continues, “I am so sorry that I couldn’t tell you that I knew that Monty was a god, and that Verena was your mum. I had no idea that Magnus was your dad though. That one shocked me. I’ve known him and Magnus for centuries, and I had no idea that they had a child.”

“That’s why he was so fucking mad at you!” Rival suddenly exclaims. His mind clearly figuring something out.

“Care to explain what you have figured out?” Kill asks him.

Rival smirks and looks at Hades, “You’re dating his daughter.”

There’s a moment of silence as the realisation hits, and then all of us, apart from Hades and Khaos, burst out laughing.

“Shit, you’re right,” Mayhem chuckles. “That’s why he’s pissed at Khaos too.”

“He probably considered you guys friends and you’re dating his daughter, and it’s pretty serious too,” Loki adds with a huge grin, clearly enjoying this.
