Maybe I have anger issues?

Storm had us all repack our go-bags with clean clothes and more supplies, and once everyone was done and the bags were stacked in the cupboard again, I decided that it might be a good idea if I put them in a pocket in the Void so that they’re always with us. Kind of.

I need to remember to tell the guys that I’ve moved them before someone freaks out because they aren’t there.

Freakout might be too strong a word for that, but my point still stands.

Anyway, the plan for today is to find out what happened to my uncle. I need to know. As much as it's going to hurt to have it confirmed that he’s dead. I need to know how he died and whether there was anything suspicious about it that I need to investigate.

Magnus wasn’t sick, so the chances of it being natural are slim. It’s possible his death could have been accidental, but I doubt it.

I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I saw him in the Soul Side of the Underworld. He was there and he was talking to Monty. It has occurred to me that I could just ask Monty about it, but I honestly don’t know when he will appear next, and it’s always a toss-up on whether he’s going to give me a straight answer or not.

Considering he’s being so forthcoming at the moment, I would guess that he’s unlikely to be as forthcoming with this, to make up for the fact that he’s being so helpful.

Monty doesn’t particularly like being helpful.

Unless, of course, it suits him, and then he will be nothing but helpful. Having said that, I can’t really see how his most recent help has benefited him in any way. If anything, it’s done the opposite. I know that he’s told us things that he shouldn’t have, so maybe I’m being unfair to him.

Either way, I don’t want to wait for him to appear to find out what happened to Magnus.

“What are you thinking about, Love?” Loki asks me.

I look up from pushing my breakfast around my plate to find him studying me closely, his gaze searching.

“I want to find out what happened to my uncle,” I reply, my voice steady and firm.

He nods and stands up, walking the short distance around the table to my side. He reaches his hand out for me, and I take it readily as he threads our fingers together.

“Come on then, let's go and find out,” he says simply as he starts to walk toward the door.

This man is something else, and every moment like this, I fall a little deeper for him.

Who the fuck am I trying to kid? I’m gone for him, hook, line, and fucking sinker, and he’s not the only one.

They’re mine, and I am unequivocally theirs.

“Where are you guys going?” Storm asks, as he comes out of his room, freshly showered and looking quite frankly fuckable.

“We’re going to find out what happened to Magnus,” Loki replies.

Guilt pierces me. I got so distracted by Storm that I forgot what we were doing for a moment.

“I’ll come,” Mayhem says as he launches himself over the sofa with one hand. He glances up at me hesitantly, “That is, of course, if you want me to?”

I nod and smile, “Of course I do. I don’t mind who comes.”

“In that case, I’m coming too,” Reaper says as he stands up.

Soon it’s clear that they’re all coming with me, and it makes me feel things that I’m not quite sure how to name.

They’re good things. I just can’t name them. I’m not always great at naming the good emotions. The bad ones are easy, but then again, those are the ones that I’m most accustomed to.

“So, what’s the plan?” Kill asks as we head out the door.

I glance back at the creatures to see if they’re coming, but they’re all sprawled out across the sofas and by the fire, and none of them look like they plan on moving any time soon. I think they’re enjoying the moment of peace that being back at the academy has afforded us too.

I look at Kill as we carry on walking, “Erm, I hadn’t actually gotten that far into my thought process.”
