Ever since I talked with Levi, the weight of the perceived judgment and condemnation has been lifted. It’s as if I can finally give my whole self to Addie. I’m no longer worried that someone will stand in the way of our relationship.
I’m dying to know what fantasies she’s come up with. She’s taken to her role as my sub beautifully, and I love how she’s not afraid to ask questions or be herself.
Our schedules haven’t aligned enough for us to spend much time together over the past couple weeks. That’s where my text came in. I wanted her to be thinking about me as much as I’m thinking about her. I’m fucking obsessed.
My phone buzzes on my desk with an incoming text. It’s been a slow morning at the station as we move into August and tourist season starts to wind down. It won’t be officially over until after Labor Day, but I’m enjoying the quiet while it lasts.
One glance at my screen has my entire body jolting.
Trouble
I finished writing my fantasies. Turns out I didn’t have any issues coming up with them.
Me
Good girl. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s on your list.
I hope that’s true.
What are you worried about?
God, even through text messages, you can read me like a book.
What’s on your mind, Trouble? I can’t help alleviate your worries if I don’t know what they are.
It’s just…
What if you’re turned off by my fantasies?
I truly can’t imagine that ever happening. However, we’ll talk through everything on your list before we do it. There will be no surprises in these scenes.
Oh god. You’re not just going to read it and then act it out? We’re legit going to talk about it?
We sure are.
Uuuggggghhhhhh. Fine.
Do you feel better?
No. Now I’m freaking out about having to say some of these words out loud. I wouldn’t have written them if I’d known I’d have to say them to you.
Every single one of them better still be on that list when you show it to me.
I wrote it in pen, so I don’t have a choice.
“Michael.”
I turn toward Dad’s voice. “What’s going on?”
“Just got a call about a break-in. You want to go with me?”
“Yep.” I quickly send a response to Addie, telling her I’m going out on a call and we’ll talk later. Then I’m walking out the doors of the station to get in Dad’s SUV. “Tell me the details of the report.”
Dad pulls out of the parking lot while he lays it out. “Caller detailed a break-in on his farm. He said someone’s been squatting in his barn.”
“Was anything stolen?”
“Not that he could tell. There was a thin blanket on the ground and the remnants of a campsite.”
