“Elliot? Look at me. Are you okay?”
He couldn’t help it. His body was all but trained to obey a command from that deep, sensual voice now. He’d spent hours listening to that voice drip honey all over him as he followed orders last night. He looked up, his lids parting slowly, afraid he’d find that he was still alone and was in the middle of having a complete breakdown. But as soon as he raised his chin, he saw the man that owned that voice, and his heart, standing just inside the doorway.
“Henry?” He gasped the name.
“I’m here.” The other man crossed the space between them with long, purposeful strides that ate up the distance, “Everything is going to be okay. I’m here now.”
“But...”
“Shh.” Henry reached him and slid his hands up to cup Elliot’s cheeks, wiping away tears he hadn’t even known were falling, “It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you. You’re okay.”
He shook his head, the knot in his throat nearly strangling the words that rushed out in a flow that he couldn’t contain, “No. I’m not. It’s not okay. Henry, I lost it. I lost the restaurant. She was never going to give it back to me and she sold it. I… You can’t be here right now. I’m supposed to meet the new owner and…”
“Shh.” Henry hushed him again, pulling him close and brushing their lips together softly, “Elliot, listen to me. It’s fine. It’s all going to be fine. I promise. I promise.”
“But…”
“Ell…” Henry pulled back enough to meet his eyes and gave a soft smile, “I’m the new owner. I bought the restaurant. I bought it for you. It’s yours. I’m yours, if you’ll have me but even if you won’t, the restaurant is yours. Nobody’s ever going to take it away from you again and if you let me in your life I swear nobody will hurt you ever again either.”
