Beau’s head spun again when Dawson blithely shrugged, “You did?”

“Yeah.”

“And you’re… okay?”

“I mean, I’m not exactly thrilled that someone felt the need to invade our private life and then publish the photos for the world to see but I’m not really surprised either. I’m a Frost. It happens.”

Beau frowned, “No. It doesn’t. Because they’ve never posted pictures of you with another man before now.”

Dawson smirked, “Well, that’s only because I’ve never been with any other men.”

Beau leaned back further so he could take in this man that he knew so well. This wasn’t at all the reaction he’d been expecting. Yet, Dawson seemed fine, just like he said he was. He was here, with his office door wide open, holding Beau in his arms and Beau was the only one freaking out.

“You’re being weirdly okay about this.” He admitted. “I thought you’d be freaking out.”

“Why? Gay panic?” Dawson lifted an eyebrow and when Beau nodded he smiled softly. “There’s nothing left to panic about. I told you. I’m done fighting what I feel for you. It’s real and it’s true and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“Daws…” Beau whispered, emotion clogging his throat at the easy way Dawson admitted his feelings.

“I love you.” Dawson leaned forward to press their foreheads together.

“I love you too.”

Dawson smiled, “So, if page six wants to tell the world that we’re a couple and I’m crazy in love with you, then so be it. I told you before I’d yell it from the rooftops. Page six just saved me climbing a whole lot of buildings.”

Beau laughed and Dawson grinned. He took the opportunity to turn them slightly so he could kick the door of the office shut. He backed Beau against it, pinning him with his body. Beau stopped laughing as heat prickled his skin and the longing in Dawson’s eyes made him itchy for what would come next.

“We’re in your office.” Beau swallowed hard, feeling the need to remind them both.

“The door is shut.” Dawson shrugged. “And if you’re quiet, nobody will even know what we’re doing in here.”

“And what are we doing?”

“Making out.” Dawson smirked, his eyes twinkling. “For starters.”

“Oh yeah? Who says I’m going to make out with you in your office, Mr. Frost?”

“The mistletoe hanging over your head.”

Beau jerked his head up and gaped. Dawson wasn’t lying. There was mistletoe hung just above them. It was high enough that he hadn’t noticed it at all when he came in but it was there and realization had him gaping at Dawson and shaking his head.

“You planned this didn’t you?”

“I might have seen the paper this morning and known you’d come up here to talk.” Dawson leaned forward and brushed their lips together softly. “I planned accordingly.”

“You scare me sometimes.” Beau laughed.

“Good. Because you scare me sometimes too. It’ll keep us on our toes.” Dawson brushed their mouths together again, “Now, it’s almost Christmas and we’re underneath mistletoe. Kiss me, Beau.”

“God I love you.” Beau sighed and then he did kiss Dawson because he meant those words more than he’d ever meant anything in his entire life.

He loved this man. He had loved him from the moment they met and he would spend the rest of his life loving him. That was the best Christmas gift he could ever imagine.

Epilogue – Ten Years Later

Dawson leaned back on the oversized sofa and surveyed the chaos happening all around him. It was Christmas Eve and as had become tradition many years ago, the entire Frost family was gathered at Roman and Ash’s house to exchange gifts. For the family who had once given up celebrating the season altogether, it was now truly a sight to behold as the ever-expanding brood tore at wrapping paper and talked over the holiday music playing from the speakers. Dawson had a feeling no matter how old he got or how many times they did this, that it would always feel magical for him.

His whole family, happy and joyful, celebrating the incredible lives they had built together was the true gift.
