JONTY STAYED CURLED UP INbed while Devan showered and dressed. Devan wanted to go out and Jonty didn’t want to move.
“No more lazing around.” Devan yanked off the sheets.
Jonty groaned and curled up tighter, pressing his face into the pillow. “I’m never lazy in bed. Why do you think I’m so tired? You make me do all the work. Suck this, lick that, stroke this, kiss that. Your demands are never-ending.”
Devan laughed. “So are your moans. Today I want to go on a trip. Get up, get dressed and I’ll make breakfast.”
“What if I want to lie in bed all day?”
“We’ve been doing that for the last four days. I want to go out.”
“Go out then.”
“I want to go out with you, because I see things differently through your eyes.”
Jonty groaned when Devan breathed into his ear.
“I’ve been asleep too long in more ways than one,” Devan said. “I’ve got your list. Let’s pick something off it.”
Jonty felt paper land next to his head.
“Choose or keep your eyes closed and point.”
He reached out, and let his finger drop onto the paper.
“Knight and dragon at Dunstanburgh Castle,” Devan said.
Jonty opened his eyes and beamed. “We might as well do the BDSM experience at Craster too. Forty ways to have fun with a kipper.”
“I’m not a huge fan of kippers.”
“Bet I can change your mind.”
“Bet you can’t. Uncurl, so I know you’re not going to drop off again.”
Jonty stretched into the shape of a starfish, lifted his hips and humped the bed.
“I’m not looking,” Devan said, though Jonty suspected he was.
“Oooh, aaaah, mmmm,” Jonty moaned.
“Not listening either. I’ll make a start on breakfast.”
Jonty wailed. “You’ve gone off me already.”
“Just in case that’s true, put those tight jeans on,” Devan called as he headed downstairs.
“It’s my job to be the funny one,” Jonty called back.
THEY WALKED FROM THE CARpark on the edge of Craster along a beautiful stretch of coastline to the castle. The sea was wild again today and the wind biting.
“It’s not far,” Jonty said. “We can have fun with kippers when we get back.”
“Not going to happen.”
The castle was in ruins, but the twin-towered keep was still impressive. The closer they drew to it, the more magnificent the ruins looked.
“It’s amazing to have all these castles on your doorstep.” Devan took a picture with his phone and Jonty took a picture of Devan taking a picture to add to the ones he’d already taken. He had a plan.
