“I’ll drip feed them as you drive.”

“Don’t make me crash.”

BY THE TIME HE’D PARKEDon Jonty’s street, Devan was dry-mouthed with excitement. He couldn’t remember when he’d been more desperate to get a guy into bed. Though anywhere behind closed doors with no sand around would work fine.

“I’m not pushing you into this, am I?” Jonty asked.

Was he serious? “Do you hear me complaining?”

“One of your alter-egos is Mr Difficult. Complaining is probably in your blood.”

Devan smiled. “Your bed better be big enough. Do the sheets have a high thread count? Are you really as flexible as you’ve made out? If you can’t get your entire dick in your mouth, I’m going to be seriously pissed off. I insist on seeing all ten wonders of Northumberland. See? I have lots of potential complaints.”

Jonty laughed.

As they climbed out of the car, Devan’s phone rang. If he hadn’t been hoping for a call from Hamish McAllister, he wouldn’t have looked at it, and when he saw who was calling, he wished he’d left the bloody thing in his pocket. But now he was torn. It was a matter of pride to see if he could talk to Ravi without anger surging from his gut. If being with Jonty didn’t keep his rage at bay, then he wondered if he might actually need therapy. He shuddered.

But he and Jonty were about to get naked—again—and talking to Ravi was the last thing he wanted to do. The phone stopped ringing, then began again a moment later.

Jonty grabbed his jacket and backpack from the rear seat. “I’m going into the shop to buy something. Take your call.”

As Jonty walked away, Devan answered it. “What do you want?” He assumed Ravi was ringing to plead with him to be Griff’s best man.

“I have something to tell you. I’m waiting at the hotel.”

What the fuck?So much for suppressing his rage.“Which hotel?” Though did he even need to ask?

“McAllister’s. Where are you?”

Devan’s heart sank. “What do you want, Ravi?”

“I need to see you, to tell you face to face. It’s…really important.”

Devan had to think fast. Christ knew what damage Ravi would do if he opened his mouth about what Devan did for a living. He could scupper the whole deal. “I’ll be there in fifteen minutes. Keep your mouth shut.”

He turned as Jonty emerged from the shop.Oh fuck.

Jonty took one look at him and his shoulders dropped. “You’re not going to sample the fourth, fifth, six etcetera wonders of Northumberland, are you?”

“Someone’s unexpectedly come to the hotel to see me. I’m sorry.”

“Okay.”

“You’ve really no idea how sorry I am.”

“It’s okay.”

“Can I come back later?”

Jonty gave a little shrug. “If you like. I’ll probably go and see Tay though.”

A surge of jealousy blocked Devan’s throat. He pulled Jonty into his arms. “The last thing I want to do is leave now.”

“Then don’t.”

“It’s not that simple.”

Jonty wriggled free and stepped back. “Just answer one thing. The person who’s come to see you, is it Ravi?”
