Epilogue

“Why did I let you talk me into this?” Emmett moaned.

“You were the one who suggested it.”

“Yes, but you were supposed to tell me not to be so ridiculous.”

Phoenix tugged him towards the shop. “I like it when you’re slightly ridiculous.”

“Slightly—yes, but this is a lot.”

“You were okay about the nipple piercing.”

Emmett grimaced. “Define okay.”

“I admit you did wail and gnash your teeth, but at least you didn’t faint.”

“Just threw up.”

Phoenix laughed. “Considering what we had to do, not that long ago, I don’t know why you’re so squeamish.” He slid his hand over Emmett’s nipple and Emmett caught his breath.

“Only okay?” Phoenix asked.

“That might have been a good decision. I remember now. But I am not having my cock done.”

“We’ll keep talking about that.”

“No, we won’t.”

“I promised you tea at Fortnum and Mason. Just think about that.”

“Hmm.”

Phoenix pulled him into the shop. The girl on the desk looked at them and smiled.

“We’re here for our appointment with Script,” Phoenix said. “Emmett and Phoenix.”

“Take a seat. I’ll tell him you’re here.”

“I’m not sitting down,” Emmett mumbled as she walked off. “I might not be able to get up again.”

“You don’t have to do it,” Phoenix said quietly.

“But I really want tea at Fortnum and Mason.”

“Well, there you go. Just think of those lovely scones with cream and jam.”

“You said you’d wear a suit.”

“I will. Are you distracted enough now?”

Emmett gave a quiet purr and Phoenix chuckled.

“If you’d like to come with me,” the girl told them and they followed her to the back of the shop.

“Hi.” The tattoo artist swivelled on his stool. “Who’s my first victim?”

“Practise on him,” Emmett said.
