My body remains frozen. I can’t find any words to say.
“I know what you’re thinking. You don’t want your answer to reflect your forgiveness, and I understand. Just…please say yes, my angel. Let us have a real wedding, and I’ll spend my entire life making it up to you.”
Who could have known that a vicious, ruthless man like Evan would ever get on his knees for me and beg for my hand in marriage.
I bend down and grab his face.
“We’ve been through a lot and for a while I wasn’t sure if I could trust you, but I can’t say no to you any longer, my devil. Of course, I’ll marry you.Again.” We both laugh and he slips the ring onto my finger. I stare at it in complete awe before bringing my lips to his. The kiss is deep, and we gasp into each other’s mouths.
Evan’s soft lips part, and I tease him with my tongue. He catches it between his teeth and sucks on it, sending a pang of need down to my center. I’ve been an aroused mess since the moment I saw him strip out of his clothes in the bathroom.
When we break our kiss, I add, “But you’re still not off the hook.”
He chuckles and lifts me up into his arms, leaving trails of kisses down my neck.
Evander might have betrayed me, but I never once questioned his love for me. This marriage might have started as a plan to get back at my father, but there’s no one I’d rather be married to. We still have a way to go for me to fully trust him, but it doesn’t change the fact that I love him.

EVANDER
“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”

Iplace Angelica’s body on the couch behind us, not once removing my lips from hers.
She said yes. She fucking said yes.Not like I would’ve given her an option, anyway—we’re already married, after all.Angelica sealed her fate to me a long time ago.
I climb on top of her, deepening our kiss, and she moans into my mouth.
“How did you even make this happen? I didn’t notice anything when I entered the apartment,” Angelica asks, pulling away and looking around at the flowers and candles again.
I smirk. “I’ve got my ways. I had them set everything up with Helen’s help while I joined you in the shower.”
Even though I’ve been swamped dealing with everything, including organizing the infiltration of the Sisterhood, I knew I had to give Angelica a proper proposal. Coincidentally, I plannedit for the same day we visited Lydia, so this was the perfect time for a distraction.
“It’s beautiful.” Her eyes glimmer as she stares at the diamond ring.
“As are you, my angel.”
Her cheeks turn rosy pink. I’ll never get tired of making her blush.
“So, what do we do now?”
“We celebrate,” I reply with a smirk.
I lead Angelica to the dining room table that was also set up by the company I hired to decorate. When she sits down, I take the seat across from hers.
In front of us are various covered plates. Little does she know, there’s one more surprise.
“Uncover your plate,” I instruct.
Angelica doesn’t question me, probably thinking there’s food waiting for her. When she sees what it is, her jaw drops.
She lifts a set of car keys, her eyes wide as a ghost’s. “What did you do?”
“I bought you a car. Not just any car, though. An unbreakable, bulletproof one,” I say with nonchalance. “It’s nothing.”
