“Shit, we should have done this sooner, baby girl,” Hardy says looking suitably ashamed. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

“You didn’t have to–”

“Build you a nest? Yes, yes we did,” Connor says, kissing my forehead. “Come on, you need to see it.”

“And I promise,” Axel says, “as good as it is, you will be able to leave. I know these hormones are a mind-fuck but they’re not a pair of handcuffs.”

“Okay,” I say, taking a steadying breath. “Okay, I’d like to see it.”

The six alphas help me out of the car and gather around me like eager school boys, fussing and mollycoddling me as we walk through the house and up to the third floor.

“What if she doesn’t like it?” I hear Nate whisper anxiously behind me.

“We tear it down and start from scratch,” Axel tells him.

I giggle. “I’m sure I’m going to love it.”

But Nate fiddles anxiously with his lip ring. I’ve never seen him nervous before.

Angel stops in front of a door at the far end of the hallway. The door handle is made from brass and shaped like a bee. I know I’m already going to love this room.

“Ready?” he asks me.

“Ready.”

He reaches up and types in a code onto a pad by the side of the door.

“The handle’s just for show,” he explains. “The only way in and out of the nest is by keying in the code and only members of this pack have that code.”

“It’s extra security to keep you safe,” Axel adds, “especially during a heat.”

I nod, thankful for it.

“What’s the code?”

Axel peers down at his shoes and rubs his chin. “The date we first met. 062722.”

Angel hits the last number, a lock clicks and the door draws open.

Angel pushes it back, holding it open for me to enter.

I take a deep breath and step through.

Immediately all my omega senses buzz. It smells of this pack, of every one of these alphas, their scents combining to create an irresistible concoction.

I take a deep inhale, the aromas rushing down my throat and making my knees shake in that way they always seem to do when these men are nearby.

Then I take a good look around.

We’re up in the roof and several large skylights spread across the ceiling. Each has a dark blind but these are drawn back, revealing the night sky above us, filled with twinkling stars.

The room is dark too, except for fairy lights strung around the walls and over the canopy of the giant bed that occupies one half of the room. It’s built for more than one person; in fact, I’m sure it can fit seven easily and over its surface are scattered soft cushions and blankets of every size, shape and material.

In another corner hang several cozy-looking swing chairs, a bookcase and a small refrigerator, and opposite dangles another kind of contraption I’m pretty certain might be a sex swing. There’s also a beautifully painted cabinet sitting beside its side that I intend to explore.

Positioned on the floor are more cushions, bean bags and several plants, the speakers from a built-in sound system are pinned into the corners, and one giant oversized teddy pair with a pink bow around its neck sits guard at the end of the bed.

I step into the room, touching and feeling all the soft materials, rubbing fur and velvet, silk and cotton between my fingers and against my cheek.
