“A threesome.”

Nate chuckles. “What exactly did you expect a threesome to be like?”

“Awkward, logistically difficult, uncomfortable.” I close my eyes in bliss. “It’s not, it’s snuggly.”

“Sometimes it is awkward or difficult,” Connor says, stroking my cheek, “but with the right people it’s always electrifying.”

“It’s never been that electrifying for me,” Nate says.

I twist my head to look over my shoulder at him and determine if he’s being earnest. He holds my gaze and for once those eyes aren’t smoldering, they aren’t dirty, they aren’t puppy dog either. They’re just his, staring back at me. Open, raw.

“Really?” I whisper.

“You’re our omega, little bird. This was always going to be fucking mind-blowing with you.”

“Are you going to be?” Connor asks me softly. “Are you going to be our omega, Bea?”

“Well,” I say, smiling at Nate and then Connor, “that really does depend.”

“On what?”

“The nest.”

I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since they told me they’d built one. It must be another of those strange omega instincts because I’ve never felt so emotional or obsessive about home furnishings before, even when I was decorating my little house with Karl. I chose the colors, I painted the walls. Job done. Never thought about it again.

But this nest … this nest has been on my mind constantly. Something deep in my chest wants to see it so badly. If I’m honest, wants me to claim it as mine.

“You wanna see your nest, little bird,” Nate tells me, “we’re going to take you right there.”

It’slate by the time we arrive at the Stormgate house, the sky dark, the air cooler and a distant owl hooting in the trees. The house lies in darkness too and I peer at Axel as he parks up the van.

“I don’t want to disturb your mom and your sister–”

“It’s our home now and they are expecting us to bring our omega here. If they didn’t want us to, they wouldn’t have let us build our pack nest. Besides, do you know how much my mom and sister like you? They haven’t stopped talking about you. They keep asking me when you’re coming round again.”

“Oh,” I say, pressing my cool palms to my hot cheeks.

“But if you don’t want to go in, if you don’t want to do this yet …” Silver says.

“Oh God,” I say, screwing up my eyes. “I’m scared.”

“Of what, baby girl?” Hardy asks, purring softly for me.

“Of falling in love with a freaking nest and never wanting to leave it.”

Hardy cocks his head like he has no idea if I’m serious or not. Then something occurs to him.

“You ever been in a nest before, baby girl?”

“No, I’ve never even seen one. But, oh shit, I haven’t been able to stop dreaming about one ever since, well, you know, things changed.”

Angel shakes his head in irritation. “I want to kick myself hard in the ass. Why the hell did none of us think of this? Why did it take Molly for us to even consider a nest?”

I blink at him, unable to understand his frustration. He takes my hand in his.

“Bea, if I’m honest, we’ve all been nursing wet dreams about … erm …” he smiles sheepishly, “having some fun with you in some soft nest, but had we ever thought to build you one?”
