“You’ll get one.”
“What?”
Will laughed. “I said, you’ll get one. But not this Christmas. There are too many people there. Even more than last year,” Will explained quietly, looking at me meaningfully.
“Yeah, I know, that’s why we needed to rent a different chalet even though I’d have loved to go back to the other one.” For now, I’d ignore his promise that he’d propose to me. It was something I’d come back to later. When I was alone, sitting in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.
“Maybe one day,” Will said, giving me a gentle smile. “I mean, who knows what the next couple of years will hold?”
“Snow,” I grumbled. “We’re in Canada, so the answer will forever be snow.”
