His arm tightened around me, pulling me against his bare chest, a small squeak coming from my mouth as he chuckled. “Good morning, little flame,” he said groggily. His head leaned down, and he buried his face in the crook of my neck. “Damn you look beautiful first thing in the morning.”

Rolling my eyes as he started dramatically inhaling. “You haven’t even opened your eyes yet, crazy man, and are you smelling me?” I questioned as he started pressing gentle kisses along my shoulder.

A subtle shift on the bed drew both our attentions. The overly aggressive purring had Wyatt sitting up and peering over my shoulder though.

“Why is there a massive fluffy orange cat in our bed right now?” he asked quietly.

“Do you think if you’re too loud he’ll attack?” I whispered with a giggle. “He’s here to request breakfast.”

“Does he have a name?”

“CC.” His dark blue eyes looked down at me, one brow arched in a clear question of‘I want an elaboration, Ember Rae.’“Do you remember how I told you I joined the app just to piss my mom off?”

“Yes?”

“Well, CC was the same deal. She made a comment about grandkids, and I told her I didn’t want kids, and I was going to join a sex app to find a man and maybe get a cat…well, some spin of that anyway. I got CC that afternoon,” I said with a shrug as if everything pouring from my mouth was completely normal and not fucking crazy.

“Okay, but what does CC stand for? Did he come with that name?”

I bit my bottom lip to hold back a laugh. His gaze was glued back to my cat again, like he was waiting for him to launch his furry butt onto Wyatt and chew his face off. He finally looked back down at me, still very much frowning.

“You’re laughing at me,” he stated.

I bit my bottom lip but nodded.

“His name is Mr. Coffee Crumbles,” I finally said. “And no, he didn’t come with that name. He didn’t come withanyname. He was abandoned at the shelter with no info, and then he chose to be a grumpy ass towards everyone who worked there. I had to have him.” I shrugged.

His eyes returned to CC, and he mumbled, “Will he try to bite me if I pet him?”

I smirked. “No idea. Only Ivy and Aspen have met him. They didn’t get to pet him though, he just stared at them and then hid somewhere in the apartment.”

“Mhm,” he hummed. “I’m going to make him love me.”

“Um, do you like cats?”

“Is it a make-or-break thing for you?”

“Well, not exactly, but he isn’t going anywhere, so.”

Wyatt nodded. “Never loved an animal more than Mr.Coffee Crumbles. He’s actually the most beautiful cat I’ve ever seen.”

I shook my head, trying to hide the smile that had been plastered to my face since he’d opened his eyes and looked at me. I didn’t need him getting any more big ideas. “I have to open the bakery, and you need to go away.”

Rolling out of his embrace, CC leaped to the ground and strutted into the kitchen to await his breakfast. I slid into a clean pair of panties and then a pair of black leggings.

“How isJade doing?” Wyatt asked.

I glanced over my shoulder at him. The sheet was draped down around his hips as he laid on his side, his head leaning against a propped-up hand as he watched me like I was a new Broadway show he was getting paid to review, and he couldn’t miss a moment of.

“She’s good, I guess. Young, as you well know, but she’s…eager,” I replied, finally settling on a descriptive word for her and her determined little personality.

Wyatt chuckled. “So were you when you started my little control freak.”

“You didn’t even know me then,” I grumbled.

“Didn’t need to. I know you now, and I don’t think you’ve changed all that much.”

I slid on a lacy bralette, turning back to face him as he rolled onto his back, the sheet leaving the slight V of his abs on show. My mouth went dry as he slowly pushed the sheet down, revealing his stunning, pierced cock.
