Rowan chuckles and shakes his head lightly. "I'm going to have a lot of fun with you, fawn."

Jane
Today I am trainingthe new employee that Katlyn hired.
When I walk inside the center I see a guy signing with Ellie and I feel my heart race.
You can train him, Jane. He is just a regular guy who needs a job.
I walk towards Ellie and the new guy. Ellie turns her head to me and a smile lifts on her face. She runs towards me and wraps her tiny arms around my legs, hugging me. I smile down at her and touch her hair; same thing I do every time she greets me like this.
When she lets go of me she gives me a paper. On the paper there is a drawing with a little girl, which I am assuming is her because of the blonde hair and dark brown eyes. Next to her is another girl who looks similar to me. Dark, curly brown hair and olive, brownish skin tone. The girl’s eyes are dark brown, and she is holding a notebook which confirms that it’s me.
I am always holding a notebook. I have to for when people try to talk to me and they don’t know sign language.
"That’s beautiful, Ellie. Is that me?"I ask.
She nods her head."Ms. Katlyn asked us to draw someone that makes us happy and I chose you."
My heart melts when she says that.
She is too pure for her own good. I hope no one ever ruins her spirit.
"I love it. I’m happy that I make you happy.”Ellie gives me a wide smile and she hugs me one last time before running to her friends. I look to my left and see the new guy I am supposed to be training. He has a small, shy smile on his face as he waves. I give him a small smile in return.
"I’m Callan,"he signs.
"Jane. Nice to meet you."
"So Katlyn said you’ll be training me today and showing me around?"
I nod my head and Callan smiles.
Katlyn isn’t in today, so she left me in charge. She said that they had some issues with her mom who is currently in the hospital so she couldn’t come in.
While I show Callan around and tell him about the class norms and whatnot, I have the kids work on some more worksheets before I let them go for the day. Katlyn said I don’t have to have them stay to watch a movie. They just needed to finish a couple of worksheets before leaving for the day.
By the time all of the kids are done, and they leave, it’s dark outside. Callan helps me clean up the classroom and then after we gather our stuff, we leave the building. I lock the door and face Callan who is looking at me.
"You did great today."
"Thanks. I was actually super nervous about coming in and meeting all of the kids,"Callan smiles.
"You did great. You shouldn’t worry. I can tell from just today that you will be okay here. You’ll fit in well."
"Thank you. You seem really great with the kids too."
I look in the direction of my car and Rowan is waiting inside the car, looking down at his lap, probably on his phone.
I look at Callan and smile.
"Do you plan on staying here for a while?"
"Yea. But the main reason why I am doing this job is because-"
