What Thalia said runs through my mind.
Rowan being the one to bring back my voice.
That's insane.
It's too cliche and it gives me too much faith in him.
And I've learned my lesson about putting too much faith in people.
The car stops and my mind focuses back on where we were. I see a tall building that says 'The Frozen Floor' with a pair of ice skates under the name.
I look at Rowan."What are we doing here?"
"Ice breaker," is all Rowan says before killing the engine and getting out of the car.
I get out and follow Rowan to where he is holding the door.
When I walk in, I see a man with a bucket hat on at the front desk, eating a donut. "Hello, little lady."
"Don't talk to her." Rowan walks closer to where I am standing, his chest brushing up against my shoulder sending goosebumps down my spine. I take a deep breath and look up at Rowan, but he is just staring at the man in front of us. "For two."
The man puts the donut on a napkin and wipes his hands. "That will be thirty-one ninety-eight," the man says. Rowan takes out his card and is about to give it to the man, but I take his arm in my hand and turn around to face him. I shake my head, but he ignores me and takes his arm out of my hands and gives his card to the man. The man swipes the card and gives it back to Rowan. "Here is your receipt and tickets. Give the tickets to the lady on the left and you can get your skates from there."
Rowan takes the tickets and the receipt. I feel his hand touch my back as he guides us to where the man said to go. His touch on my back feels like fire. It’s hot and all consuming.
"Have you ever been skating, fawn?" Rowan asks as we continue to walk. I shake my head. "Well, this is going to be fun."

After Janeand I put on our skates, I grab her hand to help her stand up and then put my hand on her waist as I walk her to the door of the rink.
I've ice skated before. It's just been a while, but my brother and I used to go a lot when we had nothing to do at home since there was a rink near our house when we were younger.
I thought taking Jane here would make her happy and keep her mind at ease.
Jane doesn't seem like the person to just randomly go places spontaneously and try something new. She is the type of person to stick with the same routine every day and I HATE that.
I HATE routines.
"Have you ever been roller skating?" I ask Jane as I open the door. There are some people on the rink skating in circles or doing tricks in the middle. I look down at Jane and she nods her head yes. "Good. It's similar to roller skating."
"That's not what other people say,"Jane signs.
"Well then those other people are lying to you. It's easy."
I grab her hand and bring her onto the rink with me. Jane slides closer to me and wraps her arms around my waist so she doesn't fall. My stomach flutters and all of the blood rushes down my body when she digs her nails into my back as she holds on.
Stop.
Not the time.
"You can't skate while holding onto me like that," I take her hands off of me so that I can concentrate on something else other than how much heat I feel rushing through my body. I see her eyes widen. I hold onto her and skate to the railing so that she can hold onto that. "Hold onto the railing." Jane does exactly as I say, gripping into the railing to the point where her hands turn white. "Okay now try and glide while holding the railing. But don't crouch like you're doing now. Stand straight."
"What if I fall?"she signs with one hand.
I look down at Jane as she looks up at me with fear in her eyes.
