“T-Thirty seconds?!” His voice is laced with sweet terror. He didn’t even wince from the cut along his face. Probably because he’s so focused on the pain from his new gaping hole.
“Well, twenty-two now that you won’t stop blubbering, silly. You're wasting time.” My smile grows wide and I know he probably sees something demonic in my eyes. He wouldn’t be wrong. Any innocence I once had was stripped away from me the moment Dan touched me.
“Fuck, I don't know the exact location of the whole operation,” I hold up my blade and begin to stand but the fucker stops me with his cries. “W-Wait, wait, wait! I can give you the meeting point we always met at! W-We have a meeting lined up. You can go in my place!”
“Nine seconds, Frank. Where’s the meeting location?” Nox pushes, his patience wearing thin. I think of my little addiction, and for once, I agree with him, ready to just killthis son of a bitch and get it over with so I can get to her. I need my fix.
“We meet at the abandoned building off Fifth! I swear, I don’t know anything else! I just take them and drop them. I’m at the bottom, they don’t tell me anything of importance.”
“Who, exactly, is ‘they’, Frankie?”
“The Dominion!” my eyebrows lift at the mention of the name. “It’s what they call themselves. But I don’t know their real names, I fucking swear!”
Nox and I lock eyes, the only sound in the room is the heavy breathing coming from Frankie after he spit out that new information and the very faint sizzling coming from his ass. He looks more nervous now, probably afraid he just revealed the most vital information of their cause. I have a feeling if we don’t kill him,The Dominionwill for being so easy to break.
“Thanks for the info, Frank. I’ll see you in hell.” I drop my knife and go to lift the hammer Nox used earlier, but judging by the screams, this useless fuck still thinks he’s of use to us.
“Come on, man. I told you everything I fucking know!”
“I know.” With that, I put all my anger behind the swing and bash this fuckers skull in, until nothing is left but blood and brain matter.
“Well,” Nox chimes in, “I guess it's time to call Jimmy to get this shit cleaned up.” he pulls out his phone, fingers tapping the screen presumably to let Jimmy know of the little predicament we’ve found ourselves in. I take my gloves off and look at Nox.
“While we’re waiting, you maybe wanna take care of this?” I ask as I grab my dick and shake my hips back and forth, a sly grin pulling at my lips.
“Go stroke one out in the shower, fucker, you’re covered in brains.”
“Yeah, not the kind of head I was looking forward to, but I’ll be thinking of you the whole time.” I blow him a kiss and wiggle my eyebrows at him and he chuckles at my stupidity.
I walk over towards the showers, but before I turn the corner, I look back and see the longing in his eyes. He’s thinking about it. I know he is.
But he doesn’t join me.
An hour later,we’re all cleaned up and about to head home. I mentioned to Nox that I wanted to see Wren before the night was over. He didn’t think going in the murder wagon was the best idea, so now we’re off to pick up the Harleys.
“You like her.” I tease, as Nox drives silently in the night.
He chuckles, shaking his head as his grip tightens on the steering wheel. “So what if I do? You already claimed her as yours.”
I scoff, looking over at my brother as if I’m offended with my hand clutched to my non-existent heart. “You act as if we’ve never shared before.”
He’s quiet for a beat, thinking that over. For a moment, I think the conversation is officially over, but then he continues, “This one is different. She isn’t just some random whore we’ve picked up to get a quick lay. You’re tracking her, Kage. I see the way you look at her.”
“And what? You think I’ve looked at you any different?”He stares blankly ahead, silent as ever, so I keep going. “Don’t act as if my feelings for you haven’t been made clear. You already know who comes first for me. It’s always been you. Wren is just an added bonus.”
“You know where I stand on the subject.” He says. It comes out as barely a whisper, I almost miss it.
“Right, so we’re just going to keep lying to ourselves about how there isn't anything here between us and how the chemistry we’ve had over the years is non-existent. Sounds good.”
We don’t say anything else after that, and I sit there the entire car drive home thinking about how much easier everything would be if he would just open up and let me the fuck in. Instead, we’re stuck in this back and forth bullshit where some days he makes it known that he wants me just as much as I want him, and the others are similar to this. Where all he does is shut me out and ignore the feelings I know he has.
Once we get home, we go inside to grab our helmets, only Nox doesn’t grab his. He goes straight to his room and slams the door. I hate when he does this, closing himself off and not wanting to face me, or us. I used to try and push him on the issue, try to make him see how right this is between us, but now I just leave him to stew in his own self hatred. I can’t keep trying to force something onto someone who doesn’t want it. If he wants to wallow in self pity, that’s his own prerogative.
I, on the other hand, know exactly what I want, and who I want it with.
The cold nightair bites at my skin as I take my helmet off my head. It’s one in the morning and by the looks of my new favorite tracking app, my little bird is still here at the bar. I walk inside, my eyes immediately making their way to the back of the bar. I don’t even need to scope the place out for her, my eyes find what belongs to me all on their own.
The jukebox hums softly in the background, an oldLoretta Lynnsong playing that Wren’s singing along to behind the bar. Her hair is up in a messy bun, loose strands falling at her neck. She’s wearing a tank top again, but this one is white and shorter, leaving nothing to the imagination. Her jeans sit snuggly above her hips, showcasing that beautiful fucking ass I’d love to bite into. One way or another, I’m going to eat that ass.
