I frowned. “Excuse me?”

“What you said is some bullshit,” he repeated.

I sighed, shaking my head. He was being rude, and I refused to let him ruin my breakfast. I began eating, and damn, my food was good. My waistline wouldn’t forgive me for eating so much bread, but I was in heaven. Neither of us spoke, choosing to enjoy our meal over continuing our conversation.

The server returned to check on us just as Phyre ate the last bite of his sandwich. She took his plate, and he leaned back in his chair, watching me as I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, not allowing him to bother me.

“I asked God to bring you back into my life, but it wasn’t a blanket request. I specifically asked Him to bring us together only if our reunion was His will. He didn’t answer my prayers to dangle you in front of me and snatch you away. I expected you to be different, Nae, but who you are at your core is who I’m in love with.”

For a moment, I couldn’t speak. The man in front of me was definitely not the man I fell in love with all those years ago. He looked relatively the same, but the older version was more in tune with his emotions and wasn’t afraid to express them. He said what he meant, and meant what he said, and I loved this version of him.

“Okay,” I finally said.

“Okay, what?”

“No more back and forth. Let’s do this.”

“Why does it feel like I’ve been here before?” I asked as Phyre took me on a tour of his house.

“Because it was being designed with you in mind.”

We’d made our way to the kitchen, and I leaned against the counter. He stood in front of me, trapping me between his arms.

“You had me in mind?” He nodded. “Does that mean you were thinking about me when you decorated?”

He smiled as he shook his head. “No. It means that before I bought the land, I remembered you saying you didn’t want to be close to your neighbors so you could walk around naked. When I hired an architect, I remembered you saying you wanted two master bedrooms for when your parents come to visit, a bedroom for each of our two or three children, and an office that we could share. When I?—”

“You remembered all that?”

“Not every single detail, but a lot of it. I bet you thought I wasn’t paying attention.”

“I was just dreaming out loud.”

“I did my best to make your dream house a reality, hoping and praying that one day, this would be our house.”

I smiled. “When can I move in?”

He seemed shocked by my words. “Shit. We can go get your stuff right now.”

“I’m serious, Phyre.”

“And you think I’m not.”

He pressed his lips against mine as he lifted me onto the counter. My arms went around his neck as I opened my legs, and he stood between them. Our kiss became passionate as our tongues collided before we explored each other’s mouths.

The counters were high, and his dick was perfectly aligned with my center. His arms tightened around my body, and he pressed his dick against me. Suddenly, he pulled away from me and gently forced me to lie down. Before my back could hit the counter, he’d moved the crotch of my shorts and panties to the side and buried his face between my thighs.

“Oh, baby,” I cried out in ecstasy.

He used his thumb to massage my clit as his tongue slipped in, out, and between the crevices of my pussy. The combination of the two sent me over the edge fairly quickly, and before I knew it, his face was wet with my juices.

Not giving me a moment to recover, he pulled my shorts and panties off, took his dick out, and slid inside of me, stretching my walls. We moaned as if we’d been waiting for this moment all day.

“Damn, Sweetness. This pussy wet as fuck!”

“You like it?”

“I love it. I can’t get enough of it.”
