My heart races at their words, and the tension in my body begins to dissipate as desire replaces my anxiety. With a shaky breath, I nod, letting them lead me to the bedroom. The door shuts behind us, the outside world momentarily forgotten as Rion and Felix turn their full attention to me.

Rion’s lips meet mine in a searing kiss, his fingers tangling in my hair as he pulls me closer. Felix’s hands wander over my body, deftly unbuttoning my shirt before slipping it off my shoulders. His touch is electric, sending shivers down my spine as he teases the sensitive skin at the small of my back.

Rion’s mouth focuses on my neck, leaving a trail of hot, open-mouthed kisses that elicit a gasp from me. Felix’s hands find their way to my bra, expertly unhooking it and letting it fall to the floor. They work together seamlessly, their touches both gentle and insistent as they explore every inch of my body.

Felix’s lips close around one of my nipples, sucking gently while Rion continues to tease the other with his fingers. I moan, my hands gripping their shoulders tightly as pleasure coils tight within me.

“Please,” I manage to gasp out, my voice pleading and desperate.

“Shh,” Rion soothes, his fingers sliding down my stomach to rest just above the waistband of my jeans. “We’ve got you.”

Felix’s hand replaces Rion’s on my breast, his thumb rubbing slow circles around my nipple as Rion’s fingers dip lower, teasing the sensitive skin between my legs. The sensation is almost unbearable, my hips bucking involuntarily as they bring me closer and closer to the edge.

“Let go, Anna,” Felix whispers into my ear, his voice hot and insistent. “We’re here for you.”

And with that final encouragement, I surrender to the pleasure, my body shuddering as waves of ecstasy wash over me.

“See?” Rion murmurs, pressing a tender kiss to my forehead. “There’s more to life than worry and fear.”

“Thank you,” I whisper, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes.

Both of them pull me to the bed and wrap me up between them.

The warmth and comfort of the bed embrace me like a gentle cocoon, but even so, peace seems elusive. I lie there in the quiet darkness, swallowing hard to quell the nervous knot tightening in my stomach. Aksel, Griffyn, and Blaze are out there and all I can do is wait.

I glance over at the bedside clock, its red numbers glaring at me like an accusation. Hours have passed since they left, hours filled with anxious thoughts that spiral through my mind like a whirlwind.

Every creak of the floorboards, every distant sound echoing through the night, sends my heart racing. What if something has gone wrong? What if they’ve been caught?

Even Griffyn’s calm through the bond doesn’t relax me.

“Anna,” comes a soft voice, followed by the sound of the front door’s quiet click as it closes behind them. Relief washes over me like a tidal wave, nearly overwhelming. They’re back. They’re safe.

“Is everything okay?” I call out, pushing myself up from the bed, the sheets pooling around my waist. My eyes strain against the darkness, trying to catch a glimpse of their faces.

“Everything went smoothly,” Aksel replies, his voice steady but tinged with fatigue. “We made the drop without any issues.”

“Thank goodness,” I whisper, sagging back against the pillows, the tension finally draining from my body. “I was so worried.”

“I know,” he murmurs, crossing the room to sit beside me on the edge of the bed. His hand finds mine, fingers intertwining in a reassuring grip. “Griffyn told us but we’re alright.”

“Did you find anything else?” I ask, curiosity mingling with the remnants of my anxiety.

“No,” Griffyn says, his voice soft but firm as he appears in the doorway, Blaze at his side. “You need to rest.”

“Okay,” I concede, unable to deny the exhaustion that’s begun to seep into my bones. What matters is that they’re home and safe.

“Goodnight, Anna,” Aksel murmurs, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead before rising from the bed. The others followsuit, each offering their own whispered words of comfort and reassurance.

“Goodnight,” I whisper back, watching as they disappear down the hallway.

Felix and Rion pull me back between them and rub up and down my body until I fall asleep.

Twenty Three

Griffyn

The moon casts eerie shadows on the pavement as Anna, Blaze, and I make our way to the businessman, Kenneth Vandenberg’s, office. A large sign on the building has his name. How conceited. Even at this ungodly hour, I can sense their determination, mixed with anxiety.
